What Do You Feed Your Dog/Dogs?

Is your brown dog a staffordshire terrier? He's gorgeous

Thank you SO much!!! :D

No, Ziva is part American Bulldog and part American Pit Bull Terrier. She is THE most driven dog I have ever had. And SO unbelievably protective AND loving. :D

Wendy, your dogs are so beautiful! They look so happy and healthy:)

Thank you so much, Terry. :) My girl can be a handful, I won't lie, but I could never imagine my life without her. They both get a LOT of exercise on a daily basis. IMO a tired bully is a good bully. :54:

I feed my dog pro plan Salmon. He has a history of dried skin and allergies. According to my mom when he was given to her she quickly noticed his hair was falling out and he was breaking out. She ended up putting him on pro plan Salmon after putting a finger on what the problem was.

That is my Chu Chu's first food I found that he could handle, and we still buy it sometimes. BTW it is on sale at Petco right now for an excellent price. You may want to buy an extra bag! :)

I feed Milo Canidae all life stages formula, with fresh fruits and veggies.

In the morning he gets some kibble mixed with blueberries. In the evening he gets a bigger portion of kibble, mixed with chopped carrots, celery, kale and green apple.

Myself, my husband, Milo and Kiwi all pretty much eat the same fresh food stuff, so grocery shopping is supppper easy! :) :)

This is our angel sent to us from above..the best little fluffybutt I could ever wish for!

My, now 13 1/2 large breed mutt, trinity, was recommended to be put down by a vet, after she lost all her hair and we couldn't figure out why she was in pain, chewing until she bleed, and totally miserable. She was sick. Really sick..and only six years old.
Finally I found a forum, and eventually found my way into the nutrition area. I found stories similar, but none as bad as my girl was. I decided to change from the grocery store brand to something better. She got better. So a year passed and I could afford better. The change she showed was already amazing. So I bought something better. Another year on that food. Even Better results. Nothing short of a miracle really.
I changed again, and got another dog, and switched my cat too.
They all eat Origin. I won't ever change if I can help it.
I advocate good kibble, lots of heathy scrapes, and raw meats.
My pets opened my eyes to my own nutrition.
Processed foods are terrible. I don't think even kibble is ideal. But it's affordable and easy, and my fur babies love the stuff. Plus if she's almost 14... Something has to be right.
I can't imagine my life without her. She's been my best friend, my daughter. So I'm happy she eats well, even if it's the most expensive kibble on the market ;)

Jumping I just loved that story - thank you for posting it. I think a lot of dogs have allergies that manifests by losing hair, or by constant scratching. Often times getting a better food is the fix, or sometimes it's a particular ingredient. I've been very lucky but I've always fed my dogs a more premium diet. You could be right that kibble isn't ideal, but I think they have made massive strides with since I was a kid. One thing I hate to see at the grocery story is someone with a 40lb bag of econ-o-bites - I just think to myself, that poor dog.

The hard part was the vets didn't understand nutrition and how it tied in. She had no hair from the top of the shoulders down.
We treated for mange, she was given cortisone, antihistamines.... It was a year watching her paws, rump, back, and sides of her mouth BLEED. She was in pain, naked, and miserable. The vet said maybe you should start considering putting her down, maybe it's cancer.
I wouldn't accept that. I posted on a forum, they said mange. Then I went into that crazy room.... I seen other dogs, looking like she did in the beginning. I convinced my abusive ex....
In the end all her hair grew back lush and shiny. She smelled better. She has energy. She smiled again.
And to feed 3 animals a month on $80 isn't bad by my accounts. They eat a much much smaller proportion then the grocery store brand. That was actually a huge learning curve. I felt like I was starving her. Then she got fat, so I scaled or way back. On the high end food they poop less, and the poop disappears quicker, so I never have to pick up poo in the yard.
And the cat!!!! Her hair feels like my bunnies fur!!!!

I've been able to find trinity is allergic to corn, grass, grains, and even too much veg gets her itchy.
Her kibble is 80% protein, 20% other stuff. They all do well on this. No runny poo. No stinky breath. No flatulence, like evo gave them. I had her on that for a couple years until origin came out. I made the switch because the ingredient list as well as the location of the company. Evo was good but they stank so bad!!!

I've meddled in raw, and home cooked as well. They still get half frying chickens tossed into the yard, and I make them turkey gizzereds with our turkey dinner. They get lots of scrapes (though they sometimes have to fight the chickens for them)
A good diet is a varied diet for all species. And processed foods have low to no nutrition that our bodies can utilize.
But kibble is cheaper, easier to give and make and find. And they love it. My boy, chase, HATE RAW, so he's out for that. He gets utterly disgusted when I hand him anything raw. Even hamburger. Lmbo

Right now we feed all 3 of our large dogs (2 Siberian huskies, 1 GSD) Purina One Smartblend because that's the "best" one that they'll eat...my huskies are really picky :( . After we get into our new house and settled in I would love to incorporate or switch to raw diets for them. There's an awesome butcher in the next town over (word of mouth references) but I have yet to go there and see what they have.

I feed my babies Stella and Chewy's Duck Duck Goose Raw freeze dried food. One of them had sever stomach problems and vomited everyday. She also had blood in her stool frequently. After switching she is MUCH BETTER!!!! I must say it is very expensive though. I spend $140 a month on their food. They are both very small 4# and 6#.... If they were big dogs It would be way too expensive. A big advantage to the Raw is that their stools are tiny flakes because their bodies use everything they eat.

I feed my boys a mix of raw and bickies. I was feeding a premade raw food but not so much any more as we have been getting plenty of dog meat done ourselves. I only started on a kibble to as It was costing me $10 a DAY to feed enough to keep weight on my main dog! So they get a working dog kibble. Meat wise we do beef, sheep, bunnies and horse for them and I get chicken for them here and there too.

It amazes me the utter rubbish in dog food! People pay stupid amount for big brand dog food that has a list of a billion different ingredients with the main ones being grain! We do t get a huge range of grain free over here and what we do have is mega expensive. The kibble I feed has meat as it's primary ingredient with rice as a filler (which I believe to be easier for them to digest). They also get raw egg now and again =)

Here are some pics of my boys =)
