Indian ringneck cockatiels budgies
Hi I have a male Latino Indian ringneck paired with a female Violet clear tail I was just wondering what's the babies would look like?

Do you know any parents?

all females would be ino and males non-ino
For other mutations, there can be speculations:
It depends if the male is a spilt to blue - if not, there would be green violets (and green if the female is sf violet) if the male is a spilt to blue, there also would be a possibility of (blue) violet (and just blue if it's sf violet). In the second situation, you might get albino females (if not, all of them would be lutino)
with cleartail is a similar situation - you can get cleartail babies only if the male is a spilt. I'm not mentioning all its possible combinations - it can be anything from above

Genetics are fascinating. I have a pair of Indian ringnecks too. The male is a double factor violet and the female is a turquoise harlequin. They recently laid eggs so I can’t wait to see what colors the babies will be. How old are your birds?

The female is 4 the male is 10 years old they had a green baby

If your lutino male and violet female had a green baby, the baby is a male.

Yes I DNA sexed him what colour should a female be?

If a male baby is green, a female would be lutino. Lutino is sex linked on the x. A male baby needs 2 lutino genes to show lutino color. A lutino female has a lutino x and a normal y. A lutino male has two lutino x genes. All his daughters will receive his lutino x and show lutino regardless of what they get from the female parent. Does this make sense?

Yes that makes sense thank you they are laying more eggs now so I will keep you updated
