What are you asking for christmas?

...and what do you THINK your getting? I've been asking for parrot toy making supplies. I THINK my mom got me that. My sister got me kiwi, and my dad... Agh! My dads driving me nuts. I specifically said all I want is bird stuff. I got a new cage for Kiwi from my grandma, and after that, all I asked for was stuff I could make toys for kiwis. Perches (bongs mainly), paper towels, un waxed cups, LOTS of yucca wood, not too expensive stuff that will last a long time! My dad, however, wants to get something for ME, not for Kiwi. So I said a new fish tank - like a 20g - would be cool. I don't think it'd come with a heater so I probably wouldn't get to do my betta sorority, but I LOVE cat fish and plecos (plecos are THE best fish there are, PERIOD), so a cold water tank would work (I actually haven't done much research since ATM I own a single betta, not sure if cat fish could do a cold water tank). So it KINDA sounds like he might get me that since it brought up fish a couple times, but I don't think so. I know he's just trying to be sweet, but gaah, I truly would be perfectly happy with animal stuff.


So... Who has any contributions? How has your Chirstmas-y week been? Full of Christmas? Hope so. And merry Christmas to everyone every person, every feathered kid, every furred kid, every scaley kid and every slimy (frog?) kid! Oh and regular kids, lol.

Aww, cool! Kiwi was my birthday and Christmas present from my sister (and the vet bills...) but guess my mom and dad are getting me something different.
Thanks I mostly just want the parrot stuff. Dang that's expensive!

I have gotten to the age that I ask people not to buy me anything. But I got few things here and there. Mainly things for my animals which came handy. Cause if we really needed something we just go buy it. To me it's better spent on Christmas dinner and such.

My wife wanted a new fishing rod & reel so that's what I got her. She got me a flyfishing rod, suitable for trout in Tasmania when we retire there. In the meantime I have to learn how to cast a fly! We get bird stuff as and when we need it

We don't exchange gifts either. My partner and I have been together almost 14 years and we buy stuff throughout the year when we want it. We have grown boys and they get cash and some clothes.

I guess i am spoilt, and get what i want during the year

2 new horses, a dog, thousands of dollars worth of horse supplies, a horse truck..

I don't even ask for things, mum comes home and says- i found this lovely ___ today, it would look great on Kyros hahaha



So i told my parents i didn't want a single thing for christmas, my brothers (older than me -_- ) both had christmas lists.. I didn't have one..



I have everything i want! I never want something for myself, it is always for my animals, so if i DO need a new bridle, mum will just get it because i can't exactly ride without one!


But woke up this morning, 5am, i went and woke my brother up



I got a new show jacket and shirt from my nana- i picked it out a few weeks ago, and she just bought it..

Then Klaatu, Kyros, and Kitai, all have a bridle bag, with their names on it.. And inside, they each had a show leather halter, with their names engraved


Then just some clothes, most singlets and tank tops because i ride in them in summer, and dad chose the colour of all my blue horse gear, which is pretty cool

Ummmm, a really pretty white jumper from the horse shop.. For when i go to shows in winter and its chilly haha

Few pairs of riding gloves, some toys for Fargo, lotsssss of chocolate

and then a brilliant set of white showjumping boots for Kyros.. Absolutely love them!!

oh and a new ipod... Because remember Fargo destroyed my other one just last week


Then my brother arrived, and he had bought Fargo a bird toy, was very nice of him


So was a very great christmas... Although each day is like christmas for me :54:

I did ask mum for another baby possum, i miss Smeagol :31: but we have to wait for the wildlife carers to call us about another.. Finger crossed can have another baby soon!

Ok, so my mom said I could have my Christmas Eve present. She said she went to the dump and found the perfect gift, LOL. ok, we've dumpster spotted before (saw a dog cage that was well worh getting,and only needed a few zip ties), but really! Christmas present?! Well, I went out (because I was supposed to get them out of her truck bed...) and found 5 cages! They're probably 2 gallons each. But rodent designed. SO, I was like 'well can I get a tarantula?' And my dad was like "How about you get nothing and take them back to the dump?' wow father. So my moms present should just be taken back to the dump? He's been pretty... Uhh.... 'Butt'-y since coming back, but REALLY?!? Oohh!

And then I asked my mom if I could get dubia roaches (I want to start a colony) and she looked behind her, and said 'maybe'. Lol. My dad hates animals. But he really took it a bit too far. They're really in good condition, and if I got filters I could always get some more bettas! I think my dad may have gotten a new tank though.

Ok I need to eat dinner, kiwi has started (well, has been for a while) flinging my food and trying to get the best part

Loki the sun was my christmas present! And a new bird cage will be my birthday present! I have a bunch of presents under the tree though so not sure what else they got me I have actually been looking at horses again but don't think I'd ask for that anytime soon.... I was actually thinking a grey jumper stallion but not sure I have the time to deal with that monster at the moment

Yep. I'm with Mikey: I've gotten to the point where there's nothing I really want. Stuff like world peace and an end to hunger would be great, but I feel really blessed in my day-to-day life and have no real needs. In spite of that, I received a lot of little owls to add to my collection, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream to share with my daughter and a lovely gold filigree owl necklace. My husband and I gave each other a secondhand wood lathe because we've both always wanted one: he's going to make chairs and I'm going to make sexy turned hair sticks to put my bun up with. LOL!

I got a new complete set of bird safe cookware. I had some odd pieces I bought along the way, with everything else teflon coated. I wanted every unsafe piece out of my home, including the spatulas that are that plasticy stuff. So i have a stainless set now, new utensils and all. Mom let me have it early, as soon as it came, because I do the cooking for Christmas dinner.

My favorite surprises were probably the hand painted penguin wine glass from my youngest niece (it's the first time she ever bought me something with her own money) and these "bad dog wisdom" glasses that my best friend knew i loved. I had no idea I was getting them! Great surprise. I guess i'm going to do a lot of eating and drinking this year!!! haha
