ok, so while i have been looking for macaw breeders in michigan i happened to stumble across a couple of sites. from my understandings they don't breed the birds themselves personally but they get babies or i'm thinking eggs and incubate them, or wean them from other bird breeders. and they are part of some national parrot place orginization. what is this exactly? is it something to stay away from or what. here is a website for one of them, Home Page some one please explain to me what this is exactly. i don't know!

Never heard of them before your post, but a 15 minute perusal of the internet doesn't answer a lot of questions, though from what I did read, they've been around for 6-7 years, at least in name and it seems a Vicki Pierce is the originator/owner/head parrot. Most of what I read is a sales pitch for you to become one of their vendor associates, but have no idea what that might entail other than paying them dollars for the opportunity to say you're a member of their organization, though to be fair, one of their webpages lists contact info of their existing vendor network.....if I was interested in more info, I'd probably inclined to contact those vendors in my area, see what they offer, then ask for contact info of birds they've placed. You can read their sales pitch at The Parrot Place. Without contacting them, I would probably surmise, as you did, that they either buy eggs or maybe just pulled chicks to feed, wean and sell.....somewhere in their various information they indicated that they had a private, nationwide cadre of breeders. I did read that Sally Blanchard had a bad encounter with them, but the webpage is not easy to decipher what the exact problem was.

thanks guys, im not too sold on this whole thing. it just kinda sparked my curiosity. i personally don't really know what to think about this kind of business they are operating. awwfully sketchy!

It cost 5 k to join them. they supply the birds and the instructional videos ,classes ,etc. They're bird brokers. They buy babies or have them drop shipped to you. They have the contacts for birds ,your the go between for customers. it's not bad. It's just what it is. it's business . yes unweaned babies ship better and with this system someone hopefully has the time /Expertise to turn out tame babies. You pretty much order your baby and they deliver, they have the contacts with the breeders.
