Well the lady just changed her mind...she said its too much of a hassel?? ok? and that she's had her since she was 3 months and she doesn't want to sell her. which i don't get? but thats good for the bird she doesn't have to be rehomed:) but sad for me:( i guess it just wasn't meant to be, she said she's selling the cage though so imma see how big it is and probably get it if its good.

O and the good deal on the cage i had a thread about i went in to get it and it was gone...figures! so ill buy this lady's cage and then go to my breeder and let a baby sun pick me:)

I dont think she ever truly wanted to sell the bird. Maybe she was having doubts so she put it on Craigs as a way of 'letting fate decide' then she was surprised when someone was actually interested and it made her want to keep it....does that make sense??? lol!
Either way I hope in selling the cage she is getting a new one...who knows with someone this crazy!

awww sorry to hear :(

I'm not sure if thats such a good idea deciding to keep the bird, i mean if she has already thought about selling it once, she mustn't truly want the bird, otherwise she wouldn't of put it up for sale in the first place :/

Lee I get what your saying i was actually thinking something like that haha she wasn't sure if she still wanted her still and i confirmed that she did? like she had time to think of what it would be like without her and she realized she didn't want too anymore? i guess?? lol i think she has a new cage? maybe she's the one that bought the one i was gonna get?!?! but the one she's selling me is still pretty nice.

Tab i was actually rambling to my friend that exact arguement! i was like she wouldn't of put her on craigslist if she didn't want to sell her?! ugh but its ok i contacted my breeder and he has new suns that are 2 weeks old which gives me about a month or so to plan the 4 hour drive to get my new baby:) ill post the pic of the cage in the next thingy.

You will probably find in a few months she will put the poor birdy up for sale again, just like the horse i told you about!! >:[

Aww thats great! cant wait to see pics :)

aww the picture isnt very big is it! :( but that looks like a nice cage! :D

and thank you! hehe! :) well, we did 2 months of training with the harness, so at the end, he knew when i held up a loop, he had to put his head through it, so when i held up the loop for the hat, he just stuck his head through :09:

Sorry to hear that. I know you were excited to get one. But, good your breeder has some hatchlings. I have been raising my sun since he was 3 weeks of age.

I just hate dealing with craiglist because people are so inconsiderate on there.

Ugh how annoying would that be to see that ad up again! ill just stay away from there:) and Yes i'll definately be uploading lots of pics of the new baby!:)

the pic is kinda small isn't it? i had to download it from her email and then upload it again so it probably got shrunk down in the process somewhere..what was the step by step process you used to harness train fargo?? i was flight suit training my budgie and i got to be able to put the suit on my fingers and and actually hug it around her but she would NOT have it fully on..needless to say i was dissappointed. but i got over it lol

robopetz im ok with it now for the most part, Ill not be trying that again but im glad i get a good cage with a new baby:) Im too afraid to try and raise a baby that young!! i was planning on a 6 week old and thats about 1 handfeeding a day if im not mistaken? and im still a bit nervous lol congrats im jealous of your baby! i wonder how he's gonna look when he's grown since he has so much yellow right now!

yes just try not to go back onto the site and look at birds, makes you want to save them all!! haha

have you got a name picked out? :)

umm, when i get him he was petrified of it, as soon as he saw it, he flew away, so i hung it around his cage, hung it on me, then would put nuts next to it, so he had to go near it, then put the nut in the middle of it, so each time he had to get closer :p then it took ages to touch him with it, so started out just a quick touch, then remove.. and then when he was used to that! we started having to put his head through a big loop, and then walk through it, then drape it over his body, and then under his wings. and so by the time he had all that done (2 months later ;) ) he let me put it on fully! haha

ahh that was a long reply! sorry hehe!

I no its so sad:( o a guy came into my work saying he had two lovebirds(they were budgies by the way) he pointed to a pic so I corrected him and he was shocked that he needed more then a tiny 12 in. X 12in. Cage for both of them!! O my gosh I was in shock! I gave him a huge lesson on bird care:)

And I was thinking niko for a boy:) I'm not sure about a girl though!
Maybe I just needed to keep working with her? Lol I'm gonna harness train the baby for sure though he's gonna go everywhere with me:) for the most part lol thanks for the tips!
