My question is simple and to the point. How much should your average 7month old sun conure weigh? And is 96 grams low enough to really worry? She fluctuates between 110-95 grams

Each bird's weight will vary, but that sounds like a good weight for a sun conure, as long as her keel bone is rounded - not too thin, not too thick.

Like Monica said, each birds weight will vary. A lot of it depends on physical size as well.

The 'ideal weight range' for a sun is generally given as 100-120g, but again, bird size is big factor. That being said, being that your sun is only 7months old, 96 grams is a good weight. I would however be concerned about the weight variance. Going from 110-95 and vice versa is not normal (unless you are weighing them at different times).

When are you weighing your bird? The best time to weigh your bird is in the morning (after they take their 'morning dump', lol). If you weigh your bird before that dump or after eating, the weight will vary. So be sure to weigh them at similar times.

As for size of bird, for example, Skittles is rather big for a sun conure. His beak alone was almost the same size as my cockatiels head (though she was rather small for a tiel). Skittles weight is 118g and he is quite skinny IMO, but the vet says his weight is ideal.

Feel your suns breast bone. There should be 'meaty' buildup on either side of the bone. It shouldn't overlap the bone, as being overweight is just as bad as being underweight in terms of potential health problems.
