Our alex is a little over 3 months old and he still really wants to eat liquid food. He gets seeds and pellets and fruits and while he chews them up I'm not sure how much he's actually eating. He never seems to eat his fill from that and is always hungry when he doesn't get his powdered food!

Any advice from the vets here? I'm a first time parrot owner.

The good news, he's already starting to try to talk!

I'm not a vet, but I got my alexandrine, when he was 7 weeks old... I handfed him for a couple of weeks, but he always had access to grated fruit and vegies as well as seeds and pellets... He fledged at 9 weeks old, and refused hand feeds for 3 days... I then stopped offering it...

Max is making many different sounds, but he hasn't started to talk.. He does imitate the dog and the birds in the back yard...

Thanks a lot lene, you're always so helpful! I'll try grating the fruits and veggies. He likes to hold on to the food with his foot but sometimes he drops it and doesn't get to eat it, smaller pieces might make it easier...i'll try it
