Hi:)

Iā€™ve been doing some reading on the internet about general bird care, and Iā€™ve stumvled upon this website: https://www.gorgeousparrotshome.com

Itā€™s a bird breeder (or some bird breeders) who breed healthy birds of all kinds.

What are your opinions on buying birds online?

Is this website legit or a scam? What do you think?

Has anyone here ever bought a bird online and had it shipped?

Iā€™m thinking about buying/adopting a bird when Iā€™m older and experienced, cause Iā€™m not quite ready yet.

Your location will have the greatest impact on buying and shipping a Mid to Large Parrot. You will likely require the services of an international Import Agent that as a matter of their normal business buys and sells internationally.

The vast number of Mid to Large Parrots are now Classified as CITES I or II, which places Import and Export restrictions including detailed documentation that normal Breeders are just not equipped to handle.

In addition, Mid to Large Parrots require the medical support of a Certified Avian Vet and depending of the Countries evolved not having such services may restrict Import and/or Export.

There is such a Group located in /near New York City, New York USA. I do not recall their name, but one of our other members may see this Thread and recall their name.

I wish you success in your search.

I have seen this group Website before. They are located in North Dakota and to my understanding ship only in North America. Their cross-section of Mid to Large Parrots and the numbers normally on hand suggest a breeder /buyer /Seller/ Wholesale Group.

Sorry, I have no experience with them.

Thank you. Iā€™m aware that shipping a bird internationally is not going to be an easy task. Iā€™m still very young, so Iā€™m definitely not be going to buy a bird in the next few years. Who knows, maybe itā€™ll be a bit different then. I actually want to become an avian vet myself!

The current tend is for even greater restrictions and an ever expanding population of Parrots falling under CITES I and II classifications.

Your region would be well served if you choose to become a Certified Avian Vet as without such services the Import /Export of Birds in general will likely come to a halt as I 'believe' you fall under the restrictions of the EU.
