- Buster turquoisegrey IRN male, Piper buttercup IRN female. 2 Budgies who will soon be relocating to my brothers home.
Hi fellow parrot lovers. I have an almost 9 week old IRN Piper, I've never had a baby this young and when I got her a week ago she has not tasted anything but Aviplus birdy porridge. So I did feed her that and then decided on the second night she can have some halfboiled butternut mixed in with a bit of the Aviplus. She absolutely loves it, I've now taken to giving butternut for dinner and Aviplus in the mornings. I've also given her a few peeled crushed sunflower seeds and peeled crushed peanuts. I leave some budgie seeds and the sunflower at the bottom of her cage and she has been foraging in it a lot. So she's been foraging so much that last night she only had a few bites and this morning the same. So I saw her today earting from the foraging bowl, I take it this is a good time to expand her diet. Any ideas? Also what spices may I start using that won't b too harsh on her just yet, and is she still too young for birdybread?
