So I had contacted an eclectus breeder looking for a male SI and was told they had a baby that he thought was male, but no real color had come in yet. So I had to wait, very impatiently mind you haha. The wait for the sex of the baby is over! It is a boy, my boy! Anyway here are some pictures the breeder sent yesterday. I dont see any identifying color, but hey I'm not the professional lol.

Beautiful, I'm sure you'll love him. Speaking of growling, I have an 8 year male you plays with his toys very aggressively and he growls at them when he attacks. He also growls at my wife when she attempts to feed him but not me. Is this odd? We have another 16 yr od male who spends his day cuttling on my wife's neck. Would he cause this behavior in the young bird?

Congratulations on your baby Eclecticsoul!!!!! You are bringing back so many fond memories for me when Oliver was little like yours. I'm so excited for you! My experience has been totally awesome every step of the way even when there was a bump or two!

And Melbourned, Oliver went through a "growling" stage and I ignored it unless he was eating which then I respected him and gave him his space. Not sure about your other bird teaching biting to the SI but I suppose he could. If I wink Oliver winks, if I yawn Oliver yawns, if I'm eating he wants to eat...all imitating what I model....

Yes he is, definitely looking more bird like lol. Im not sure of all the different developmental stages they go through when they are this young, but it is really neat to see how much he has changed in such a small amount of time.

Congrads babies are great my Shamrock is now almost 14 weeks old and growing like a weed lol

I love reading about your new baby because it so reminds me of when I got Oliver--exactly the same time frame as you and he too came home in January--all one year ago. I was fortunate that I lived close enough to visit him every weekend and spend time bonding. I was always shocked from week to week how much he changed. It was truly rapid fire! Now at 13 months the changes are not as noticeable physically but definitely behaviorally. All I can say is savor every single moment.

Got more pictures today! He is getting all of his beautiful green feathers in! Looking more handsome everytime I see him! Breeder said he got moved from the brooder to his own tub today so he was a little nervous and not in the mood for pictures.

I don't have an eclectus but when I was waiting for Parker to come home the pictures really helped...watching him go from a naked chicken to and adorable little baby bird...and he was definitely worth the wait...your little one is super cute
