I have a Dyson air purifier and an IQ air purifier. Only a couple of weeks old the DYSON air purifier turned off and let out a bunch of smoke and burning smell. Luckily the smell and smoke woke me up and I was able to air everything out. This never happened with the IQ air purifier. I hate to think what would have happened if I wasn’t home or didn’t wake up. I just wanted to share this information as many of us have air purifiers. I love the IQ air and trust the product.

Glad you were able to promptly clear the smoke from the air. This just shows that freak accidents/incidents can occur in seconds, no matter how much care you take. Thankfully you are all ok.

My goodness, how scary! You ought to contact the manufacturer about that, since that particular brand seems to pride itself on the quality of it's products and it's customer service. Thank heavens everyone is OK!

I did and they didn’t think it was a big deal :/

Well I must say that surprises me, particularly considering how important "word of mouth" recommendations and social media are these days. It's all very well to sell a product but the true test of a company is how they treat you when things go wrong. Very disappointing!

IQ air is all I use now as only one of the few that can handle large spaces. I tested over a dozen air purifier with a industrial grade 6 channel particles meter and only one that bought particles count down to zero on larger particles and almost nothing on smaller particles. Plus way over built and truly sealed unit as well. Hence reason they use them in some hospitals and doctors offices. Dyson is overpriced plastic crap as far as I am concerned and not even close to the IQ air performance. Plus the IQ air has gas units that take care of most toxins in air. I have both models. The IQ air gc multigas unit had for a few years running 24/7 and health pro plus air purifier for two years running 24/7. Yes replacement filters are expensive, you get what you pay for in quality and performance. Literally get rid of any smells.
