Bonded Hyacinth Macaw Breeding Pair For Sale. Birds

Alabama, two for one. Watch out. There are a lot of scams with these guys.

That's the same cage my Maggie (GW) is in. Seems a bit small for Hys...

Good tip. Thank you. I'll send an email. I'm aware of the scams. Seen lots of them already. I won't fall for one. There will be no "wire transfers" or "i'll ship your bird." I would only ever buy a bird that i had met and interacted with in person and who also got a clean bill of health from an avian vet of my choosing. If i buy a hyacinth the transaction will go like this:
You hand me a bird, then i give you money. In person

Don't even make contact. While this ad lists them in Alabama

This one has them in Maryland
Hyacinth Macaw Breeding Pair For Sale . Birds

Here they are in New Hampshire
Hyacinth Macaw Breeding Pair With Wrought Iron Cage And Nest Box -. Birds

And now here these same birds are in the United States
Hyacinth Macaw Breeding Pair With Wrought Iron Cage And Nest Box -. Birds

Shall we say SCAMMER here?

I already did a google image search and found that those 2 pics are attached to multiple scam ads all over the country. People can be such losers

Yeah that's the tricky thing. Many people that have rare parrots(Hys, black 'toos, certain macaw hybrids, etc) usually are really quiet about it. Bird theft is a surprisingly big issue, especially with parrots that would sell so quickly for such a high price. :(
Best of luck on your search for a Hy. :) I'm excited for you!

You said you're looking for folks who have them within a day's drive from Alabama, right? Check out Birdbreeders in Florida. Lone Palm Aviary
West Palm Beach, FL 33409, 570-730-1366 (their website states they have a baby at the moment)

Lone Palm does not necessarily actually own and have some of the birds on their own premises as she tends to be more of a 'screener' (others might say broker) for the actual owners of the birds. Always worth a call to what can be arranged.

Correct- even though I bought my galah through LPA (in Florida) she was shipped from California.

I've pretty well decided that if we do decide to get a hy, I'm going to put myself on Kashmir and/or Rita's waiting list. I just want to meet as many hyacinths as possible in person before making a decision to get a hy or not

Thanks everybody so far!

Are there any members that anyone knows of that have Hy's? I'd like to message them to ask about their birds. The more people I can talk to with direct first hand experience, the better!

Anyone know of any breeders they recommend (I'm already in contact with Rita and Kashmir)? Anyone know of any breeders they DON'T recommend (you can PM me if you don't want to discuss it publically)? Thanks again everybody!

Did they have any available, if so what age?

No. You have to get on the waiting list. Rita told me they had no chicks last yr, 2 in 2012, and 1 in 2011. There are currently 6 people on the waiting list, so probably a long wait. But worth it, IMO
