I was just wondering, which do you think is stronger, or more concentrated,
VittaCritter Dye or food coloring? And if one is stronger, by how much.

I may have to check out VittaCritter Dye. I was trying to find food coloring and it seems all of them in my grocery store have sugar and corn syrup in them. I know mixing it with water will lessen the concentration, but that concerned me.

Anyone know where to get something that doesn't have sugar in it?

Yep, kool aid will dye stuff. Once when my sisters, cousins, and I were young we got the "good idea" to try it on hair the night before Easter. It does work lol. (We at least just each did a small piece of hair haha)

I know lots of people that dye their hair with kool aide, I've tried it but my hair is too dark so it's almost impossible to see unless you hold a few strands up to the light. It does work great to dye wooden blocks with too and it's super cheap. just mix the packet with water and don't add the sugar, you can even adjust how dark it is, just add less water for darker colors.

Are there any issues with it coloring the birds feet? I know that sounds strange but my cag has purple feet from the food coloring i used on one of his perches. :(

Well, if their foot or the toy gets wet, some might run, but you are going to have that with any safe dye as they are all water soluable (sorry, I can't spell for diddly).

Well after wasting several cans of PVC Pipe Cleaner, and about 50+ dollars in experimenting, I can say that none of the current dyes out there that are used, Kool Aid, VitaCritter, food coloring, and a few others I tried were just not concentrated enough to use as a dye or stain on the PVC pipe. Its seems that Dye I used in my PVC Pipe Stand project that is in the Do It Yourself forum is so concentrated, probably a few drops of that stuff is equal to a gallon of 100% food coloring! Oh well, all in the name of science lol........

Also try Wilton's icing coloring, great vibrant colors, you can get it at Michaels crafts and AC Moore

I don't even know what cool-aide is... To me it sounds like something you put into the radiator of a car... :31::31::31:
