Here's Lucy. She was found lost/abandoned two weeks ago, and as her owners haven't claimed her I'm keeping her. Two weeks ago she was very unfriendly hissing and biting and now I just have to be near her and she makes these strange noises (see videos). At first I thought she was "On heat" but I've been told it's normal cockatiel behaviour...? Now that I have a video perhaps someone can clarify once and for all! P.S isn't she adorable??

she abosolutley loves the attention!!(thats what i think. why is she raising her back?/ i dont get that) so sweet! is she clipped?? i mean- ur sitting next to a window. my budgie will go crazy next to one

She is 100000000% adorable, and maybe more than that. Awwwww, she was a gift to you, really. You two were so lucky to have found each other. Thanks for the video.

Yeah I don't know what the deal is with the bum in the air! Even if I just go near her the bum is up and she starts chirping away. She's obsessed with head scratches. Everytime I time around she's there!!

What a nice little bird! The chirping with butt up is her way of being submissive to you. What a lucky find!

she is very pretty, you are so lucky!

now how shall I put this.....umm....she is "displaying"
hens do this when they want to mate, or their hormones are raging.

try and keep her scritches to her neck area only, the more you go down her back, the more excited she will become....of course if you had to choose between the soft chirps and a nasty bite, I'm sure you would take the chirps....she is adorable!

OMG Crimson that's what I have been trying to say! But everyone has been assuring me it's just friendly. My first instinct was she is "displaying". I really think she has a crush on me!

My male cockatiel is too young to mate, but let's just say I wouldn't be unhappy to have baby cockatiels in the house :)
