Vet Visit...Opinions Please? Not happy....

I think that is a very nicely worded letter and that you did an excellent job conveying your concerns without sounding angry or putting people off.

I agree with Roxy. Kudos to you for staying as professional as possible. Hopefully the vets will take your letter to heart and look at what they need to start doing differently.

I think it sounds very nice and I love that you also bought Koko some things to be sent along with your setup at home pictures.

Well done and I will look forward to your update.

I don't like the Dremel tool, if your not careful, it can get too hot and burn the bird. I'd rather clip and sand lightly with a nail file.If the nails are over grown then the long quicks will always be an issue, I use corn starch for bleeding ,doesn't hurt birds.

I don't either. I've accidentally hit a nail with the dremel when I was using it and it burns! I wouldn't want that used on me, much less a scared bird. The rescue has one someone brought in. I don't know that we've ever used it. A quick trim is much less traumatic for them than the sound of the dremel and the feel of it on their nails.

Thank you everyone for your responses and concern. I've mailed out the letter. Addressed one to each vet seperately along with the staff to make sure that if one should somehow became discarded that there is another one waiting to be opened...

I've also placed the order and recieved a shipment confirmation. I spoke with a co-worker who has agreed to go with me in a week or so to "check up" on Koko, and see if they have at the very least put the toys, perches and treats in the cage and hopefully gotten rid of the terrible block of wood being used as a perch and 5 inches of piled up cardboard on the bottom of his cage... Fingers crossed that they do right by their "staff parrot."

Thanks again everyone for your support, it means a lot.

Very well written!!! But I wouldn't be as nice about it....good job!!!!
