Very sick amazon - no vet help available, plz help...

Olla, I am surprised your friends birds are still alive. I am hoping she has been able to get some help from the Vet. If the birds have Psittacosis they will have to go on antibiotics for 45 days. The antibiotic of choice is Doxycycline. If its Aspergillosis treatment is required either way she will have to seek out a Vet to have some tests done.

Dear Olla,
I don't think that anyone thinks you are lying. I think you must be as confused as the rest of us. It is good that the birds are alive if they aren't hurting. I do know that most people believe that gas and exhaust from the heaters or even from things like the stove cleaning cycle and stuff can kill birds fast even when other animals are okay so that is why we are confused I think. My dad and bro are in St. Petersburg, Russia right now but your friend is in Moscow yes? My dad wouldn't be much help cause he isn't really smart about the birds. I wish I could help your friend. I see my mom emailed before but I don't know the vet she was talking about in Plussa.

Hello :)

Good news! The birds are much better, so are the owner and the dog. I don't know how to explain but the problem which we think caused the illness was fixed and at once everyone started getting better. The lovebird started eating itself, but the amazon is still being hand fed, because it doesn't eat much. But in overall, they look and feel much better. Some vet is helping the owner over the phone with some instructions so I hope everything will be fine in the end.

Bogo2, she is not in Moscow, she is in Petrozavodsk.
I actually know her from the birds forum and we have never met, but we became friends in the internet :) I live in Denmark so I couldn't really help her other than by supporting her and trying to find out how to help the birds.
