Just rescued an Amazon parrot who desperately needs a decent cage. Is there anyone is S. Idaho that would have one they could sell me for no more $150? I wasn't planning on having to budget for a cage, so it's a big expense at this time, but I had to get the bird out of where he was at. I need a square cage, rather than a narrow thin one and it really needs to have a skirt, thanks.

I have some but I'm not that close. :) Try Craigslist? I got a brand new cage big enough for a Macaw for $200.

Been looking on CL, so far, just narrow ones, usually w/out a skirt, but I'll keep checking.

Start calling pet shops and veterinarians. Many have used cages. Clean it like your bird's life depends on it, and remember, it is hollow, roaches!

I wouldn't pass up a nice cage just due to the lack of seed guard. An alternative (cheap) solution to protect your floor is a piece of plywood topped with some scrap linoleum. It's SO much easier to clean. This is what we have under Kiwi's cage:

It's really a breeze to clean and keeps his mess off the carpet:)

I use a clear shower curtain and Julie uses those platic things they put under office chairs, both are cheap alternatives.

Looking for a travel carrier on CL is fairly easy, but with a skirt, I don't think so. If it's because of your car putting some trash bags on the seat should do the trick. And how large is the bird? Size will almost have to do with every price when it comes to parrots. Of course, ForteBebe is one of those people... The lucky charms people, eh?

I got a cage at Petco on sale and then had a $50 coupon code and it was just over $200 with free shipping for my amazon. Ebay and Amazon have alot of cages that are inexpensive too, and several of them have free shipping.

Can attest to the roaches!!! Cage I got last week had a colony hidden inside. As for seed guards, my cage came with it and I didn't even bother installing. I'm still gonna have to clean the floors because the guard doesn't catch most of it.

Definitely check ebay
