URGENT Avian vet West London Needed

Yes. He’s on antibiotics too. Forgot to mention.
Thank you all!
I’m so glad you found a place to bring him to and he is doing better. I will keep you both in my thoughts.

I lived for about a year with a partner who had two terriers. They have a strong drive to chase anything little and scurrying. I was never so careful with my birds as when living with those dogs. I’m sure a running little conure looks a lot like a mouse or rat or mole to a terrier. He may have acted before he even “thought” about whether these were the actions of a “good dog”.

I so hope your bird is ok and that this can be worked out happily.

Koki was seen by the vet today.
They hydrated him and gave him painkillers, both intravenously.
Within an hour he was better and able to keep his balance and sit upright on his feet and tail, instead of laying down.

He is still very poorly and in big shock.
Not out of the woods by any means.

They performed a ‘moving x-ray’, which is not perfect, but for a proper one they gotta sedate him and he’s currently too weak for that.
Apart from the heavy shock he is in, they suspect a broken wing.

Koki will stay with them for 3 days so they can constantly keep an eye on him, hydrate him and relieve his pain.
Once he gains more strength they will perform the sedated x-ray.

Other than that, I pray for my little fighter and hope he has the strength to comeback to normal.

Thank you all for keeping him in your minds!
I appreciate every single message.

Best wishes
Martin
Praying for a speedy recovery 🙏

Yes, indeed that’s true and that’s also the case with us.
My dog is a Jack Russell terrier, but him(Freddy) and Koki have gotten along great, for the past 8 years! They stay in the same room and often times Koki would ride Freddy like a rodeo, holding on to his collar.
They are literally best buddies.
What happened was freak accident.
Freddy was sound asleep under a blanket and Koki snuck under there to try and climb/play with him(as he has done many times), which I suspect startled Freddy in a different way.. as never before, so he turned and nipped him.
It all happened in a split second.. I saw Koki’s tail disappear under the blanket and instantly reached to lift the blanket up, but it was all too quick.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that Koki passed away this morning.

Thank you all for the support!
I felt your energy. I hope Koki felt it too.
