- Abby 2 year old Female Eclectus & Solomon 12 year old Male CAG & Dickens 4 year old CAG.
Just wanted to give a quick update on Solomon.
I have had him for a week now. He is an eater... I am going to change his diet as he was given a lot of packaged freeze dried fruit... tons of sugar.
I gave him some steamed broccoli and he ate every piece. he has been on a parrot mix with a lot sunflower seeds... that is going to change very quickly.
I have given him some Zupreem maintenance pellets that I give Abby and he ate them. Stopped at the store today and picked up some fresh granny smith apples, Abby loves them and that is her treat before she goes to sleep. I will see how Solomon likes them. I will be changing his diet slow but will be cutting way down on the dried fruit.... I do not want him to starve just to get him eating better.
I have been sitting next to him with the cage door open and talking to him. At first he starts to shake, but I tell him it is ok and he stops... I gave him a treat with the door open and he took it and did not growl or feather up.
It will take a while but I thing he will come around.
