Update on Reggie the Rescue

Well, its been one week since we got Reggie and I must say he is a character! This past week he has played with toys, the lady we got him from said "he doesn't like toys".....wrong...he loves them and get so excited over them. I had a set of plastic keys that I had purchased from the baby department and gave them to him, I had to clean his cage and I had to remove them to do so, well he was so upset that I removed them....those are his. He starts talking and laughing.
I even got to scratch is head one day last week, I have tried everyday, but he doesn't want any part of me touching his head. He is eating veggies rather well too. Today was shower day and he loved the mister, just stood there and let me shower him.
I think with time and lots of love and patience he will come around. He meows like a cat and when he does he says cat.....lol

That's fantastic! Reggie sounds like an adorable little character with a sense of humor. It's so funny to hear parrots meow. Wow, he's eating veggies and enjoying showers already, that's no small thing. Isn't it amazing what parrots can and will do when given the opportunity?

Hi Allee....I think he is loving all this attention he is getting, and I was surprised that he ate a carrot and a piece of green pepper. Now I think he is getting protective of his toys.....since he never had toys...is this normal? He doesn't want anyone touching his toys, I went to clean his cage and had to remove these plastic keys that he put on the bottom of his cage and he was screaming at me when I removed them. I told him that I was going to give them back just needed to clean. Once I was done I put them back and he was happy. It is amazing what they can do when they are given opportunities. Thanks...I am glad I found him....
