Talked to the surgeon today...his foot is getting worse, skin is dying even tho he is getting blood flow to the tissue. Doing plastic surgery won't help because it's just too far gone. David realizes and accepts the diagnosis as do I and his son Joe. Surgery will be by end of the week, probably Thursday.

Prayers for my best friend please.

Saw him today he was in ok spirits..The Doc told him he is just waiting for an operating room and an anethstegiologist to become available..seems there is a shortage of them since Covid has taken it's toll on our poor medical professionals..
Now the doc is looking at Friday or Saturday for surgery.

I'm so glad you were able to see him, and that he seems to be doing okay.
I am so happy that you are there for him, that must take away some of the worry he is facing.
I hope they can get him an OR soon.

I'm so glad that David has kept a sense of humor through this.
Sending massive prayers his way tomorrow in hopes of an uneventful surgery.
Please let us know how he's doing, I know we will all be on pins and needles waiting to hear from you.

Saw him yesterday as he was being wheeled into his room. A bunch of nurses doteing on him making him comfy.. He'll probably go back to rehab tomorrow after they make a mold for a fake leg...that'll probably happen today. He said he hasn't looked at it and wouldn't let me...he cried and hugged me...said he just want's to go home and see BB.

I talked to him this morning, the doc is pleased with the out come. He was moved back to the local rehab this afternoon waiting to be fitted for a leg. His demeanor is pretty good but says it hurts like heck. Probably see him tomorrow. The rehab allows pets, its suppose to get in the 60's Wednesday or Thursday..BB will go on his first adventure :)

Saw David yesterday...he is over whelmed and is in a lot of pain  He's doing PT learning to keep his knee straight which is essential for proper fitment and alignment for when he get's a leg. The people who will supply the leg called while I was there. They are going to send a rep to see him who is also handicapped so he can see first hand what it's all about. He was told the sooner the better but he still has staples in his leg that wont come out for about two weeks. He has a brace and a tight "sock" that he needs to wear constantly that bothers him..he has lost about 40lbs and I'm guessing cause they are feeding him proper and he hasn't had his daily three glasses of wine or whiskey!

BB can't visit :censored: The staff there are clueless about Parrots. I was asked if he has all of his "shots"..I told them birds don't get shots..then I was asked if he was vaccinated from the bird flu,I said he's not a duck or chicken,he's an indoor companion parrot! Then I was asked about his medical records which I have.
The girl talked to her supervisor then said because of covid he can't visit, when I questioned about the little ankle biter doggo I saw there last week and said "oh covid doesn't apply to him?" she just walked away not answering....grrrrr
