So funny thing guys. I just got back from the vet with cricket to find out that he is a healthy Sun Conure. When I showed her the video, she instantly started laughing. I said to her "what is so funny"?, she said "your bird is not sick, he is nothing but a horny Conure"...lol...
I refuse to get him a girlfriend so I decided to go to the pet store and get a stuffed animal that chirps...lol.. Unfortunately, he pooped on it and wanted nothing to do with it. Then looked at me and squawked with the loudest squawk I ever heard. He even ruffled his tail feather at me...lol.. I really do believe that he is livid right now because I took the wind out of his sails today and clipped his nails. He seems to be a very happy fella right now but the vet also gave him something to calm him down so that she could clip his nails an wings.
I know there's some big controversy about clipping the birds wings but because I have three cats that are not used to him yet, I felt it was safer to keep him suspended versus flight. When the cats are little bit more used to him, then I will stop clipping his wings.
I would like to get a larger cage for him but I am finding that it is entirely too expensive to buy. I have been coming across bird cages that are $500-$800. Where can I get a birdcage that is worth the money but not over 200.00.. I have invested about $300 and him ready, which not complaining. I am so excited that there was nothing wrong with him, I was really concerned.
:orange:Thanks

I think I confused myself...are Niki and Cricket the same bird lol? Very pretty regardless. Glad to hear he had a good vet appointment. Ducati was pretty mad at me when I brought him home from the vet too. He sat in the corner farthest from me and just stared at me. He was completely fine the next day.

Bwhahahaha! I just about died laughing. I'm very glad to hear Cricket is healthy, but this is one you'll remember for a LONG time. The time you brought your bird to the vet for being....amorous:20:

All birds get hormonal and do some..erm...odd and/or inappropriate things. Generally you just want to ignore hormonal behavior so they are not being encouraged to do more of it. You can also reduce fruit intake (up the veggies, your trying to cut sugar during the mating season), keep them on a consistent daylight/nighttime schedule with dark cage covers and blackout curtains (changes in daylight trigger hormones) and otherwise just steer clear of him when he's behaving that way. We all go through this with our birds, and we ALL wish they didn't get hormonal:rolleyes:

Im so glad that he is A ok! :D Im surprised you are finding the cages so expensive! Do you live in America? Because on Amazon I found the perfect cage for my Lilo for under 200 and its brand new! Its taller than me!

Glad to hear he is ok.

Montana bird cages are really good, and reasonably priced. There are quite a few websites in the UK that sell them.

ROTFL!!! Keeping it G rated I can't share Husband's reply. Something about dropping. Do you have flea markets around you? I got Buddy's "mansion" for $250 there. Also check online to see if you can order one. I have found some nice, large cages online at a nice price.
