So funny thing guys. I just got back from the vet with cricket to find out that he is a healthy Sun Conure. When I showed her the video, she instantly started laughing. I said to her "what is so funny"?, she said "your bird is not sick, he is nothing but a horny Conure"...lol...
I refuse to get him a girlfriend so I decided to go to the pet store and get a stuffed animal that chirps...lol.. Unfortunately, he pooped on it and wanted nothing to do with it. Then looked at me and squawked with the loudest squawk I ever heard. He even ruffled his tail feather at me...lol.. I really do believe that he is livid right now because I took the wind out of his sails today and clipped his nails. He seems to be a very happy fella right now but the vet also gave him something to calm him down so that she could clip his nails an wings.
I know there's some big controversy about clipping the birds wings but because I have three cats that are not used to him yet, I felt it was safer to keep him suspended versus flight. When the cats are little bit more used to him, then I will stop clipping his wings.
I would like to get a larger cage for him but I am finding that it is entirely too expensive to buy. I have been coming across bird cages that are $500-$800. Where can I get a birdcage that is worth the money but not over 200.00.. I have invested about $300 and him ready, which not complaining. I am so excited that there was nothing wrong with him, I was really concerned.
Thanks
