I just got back from Southern Oregon and wanted to put up a fresh picture.

She is scheduled to have her Cone Of Shame removed this friday.

sorry it's not better quality, my son had to give her scratches just to get her to turn to the camera.
Mango acted like I was a total stranger and would not allow scratches on homecoming.
Offered her a bit of grated cheese on my open hand and all was forgiven.

Aww sweet Angel... glad that the dreaded cone of shame is going to be gone soon!

Aww, Angel! I’m glad you don’t have to wear the Cone of Shame anymore!

Oh, what a good girl! I am so happy she’s well and better.

The bonus is, you can take a bird that can’t fly outside pretty safely. Lucy (old Quaker who couldn’t fly due to injury) loved going on walks, to parks, music fests, etc.

Xoxo angel.

She has to learn she can’t fly and I am afraid of her injuring herself in the process.

this is the second picture I had trouble posting.

Why are my pictures going up double?

I agree with Heather, you might have to look at clipping the other wing to try to even things up a bit, if you haven't done so already. Cockatiels are SUCH strong flyers naturally, so it's hard to say how else you might go about things for her. :(

I'm not sure why your pics are doubling up but I don't think it matters so much. After all, too much Angel is barely enough!

I am wondering if you could take Angel in your bedroom if you have a double bed and let her try to fly over the bed. Then when she does not succeed she will land on the soft bed.

Somehow I remember reading this suggestion for teaching young birds how to fly before first clipping them, back when we all clipped our parrot’s wings.

Oh, you little precious angelic Angel. A pox on the cone of shame; may it come off soon and be banished to the nearest can of garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aww, this poor little cockatiel. I didn't know they put cones on birdies. It's cute, but not good that she's ill!

By the way, the person in your signature literally looks exactly like my mom when she was younger. I might try to find a photo. Definitely going to show her, though...
