Hi folks...

I just got off the phone with Geri..She said he is doing ok but had a "slight" set-back yesterday. It seems the doctors thought he may be getting phenumonia and are giving him antibiotics. She said the said his temperature is normal.but Geri says Al's "normal" temp is 96.5..so I guess 98.6 is high for him. He is doing some cardio exercising and want him to continue when he goes home, but we all know how he can be!
Still no date on his release  Geri says his spirits are ok considering everything and his hard-of-hearing roommate who like the tv LOUD lol.

Salty is also doing ok. He is doing things with Geri that he has never done before. She said today he was calling "daddy...daddy" then went to "GERI!...GERI!" :p poor salts doesn't know whats going on.

Geri again says THANK YOU for all the well-wishes! She says she can read our posts but cant do her own. She read cards from Inger and Bumble to him and a card from Wes (Texsize) and said to say THANK YOU for those, they made Al smile knowing he is being thought of..

So its still a waiting game..he's getting frustrated of course. He wants to come home for the weekend to see his family real bad..don't blame him really :(

Keep up the prayers people!!

Jim

Man! That stinks...I am hoping he is just annoyed and therefore, warmer than usual lol. I was so glad when he started posting again!!!

Let's all hope the worst is behind Al and he'll soon be home with Geri and Salty.

good to hear he hasn't gone insane yet! Thankfully he should be used to some louder noises with Salty around. Fingers crossed the pneumonia gets eradicated before it really appears. Fingers crossed they find him fit enough to get home soon.

On the brighter side it sounds like Salty is getting more happy with Geri's company so maybe he'll be even more of a family bird now and get more enjoyment from everyone

Hi everyone. Today my son Brett sprung me from the rehab on the promise he would have me back in time for my 12 noon IV antiboitic feeding. It does seem to be working. All other pistons are firing just fine, and I am drivin the physical therapy people crazy. Hven't used the O2 tank in over a week, and no wheelchair for the last 4 days. My normal gait is a swift one, and the other day I set off the fire alarm becasue the therapist said 'Lets walkout side a bit" so I went out the nearest door before she could enter the pass code to neutralize the alarm. LOL, it sure woke up all the other inmates, I mean patients, in the work out room. Frankly, most could dowith a bit of shakin up. The visit home was both good and bad. Good to see every one, to stretch outonmy own bed for awhile, good to start my Z3's up. Bad in that Salty has NOT forgiven me for leaving him with no notice and was very bitey, even thouh I was able to cajole him into a good head scratch.Honestly,, this comin and then going again is doing nothing for our relationship andI think it is going to take a good long time before we are back where we were. Bad in that a family is like a ship, and right now this one is missing it's Captain.

I hope they release me this week. THank you everyone for your prayers and good thoughts, and to Jim, Wes, Inger, Scott and Gail for the cards and gifts. They are all appreciated.

My daugther visited methe outher day, and made me laugh so hard I cried. She started talking about how thesurgeons evaluated the veins they took out from my leg ( to fix my heart). She said they stretch them out a bit and then blow them up like the skinny balloons , sayin "Look, I made a rabbit !" "Hey, I made a sword !" and then used them to fix my heart. Sick humor but funny none the less.

Thanks again, my Parrot forum family!

Thanks for that, Al.

I was afraid you were gonna make me have to come over there!

Yeah I figure that if I make myself a big pain in the ass ( more than normal), the staff are sure to voice their agreement that it's time for that guy in 122 to go home !! Takes one vote from each: PT,, Nursing, Psych, Med and Corronary. PT - no problem; Psych -They think I am crazy because I still ride after my motorcycle accident. I cant get to Med or Coronanry, so its pressurizing the nursing staff !.

Hey Wrench, where would we all be without some level of crazyness? Just keep that up!

Since you are in there...beat that bug, do not bring it home as a souvenir. :)
Be nice to nurses, they are flockbirds too.

That's the attitude, Al! That sort of toughness will get you up and out ASAP!

I bet once you return home Salty will quickly resume his affections.
