Wow has this been a crazy past 5 months, lol! I started out with Just Calypso, our cockatiel, that prefers my husband, so we got My Midori, my turquoise gcc, for my bday. She is my sweet baby girl. Then around Easter, my breeder let us have Yoshi, my kids' green linnie, when I went to go get my grandmother's rosey bourke for her. After that, I decided I'd like to get into this business so I started buying some of my breeder's baby gcc's at 3 weeks old, and hand raising them my self when she had a surplus of babies. That has been so wonderful, that I started taking on some others just to feed, from her, so I could get the experience. So far, I have raised and sold 6 gcc babies to wonderful new parents. I have also hand raised my grandmother's 2 rosey bourkes, and 5 of my breeder's cockatiels. I acquired from my breeder's friend another baby blue linnie to play with the linnie we have. his name is Sonic, and he LUVS my 4 year old so much!!! I have also raised 2 gcc's that I am keeping to hopefully have as a breeder pair one day. My male is a pineapple named Moonshine and the female is a yellowsided named Sunshine. Now during all of this, I have had to quarantine a bird that was found. A friend found this bird in his back yard and contacted me. It was banded so I contacted both l&m bands and avian biotech to see if we could find its owner. We also put an ad on craigslist. No one has claimed this very sweet shy bird. I went ahead and sent blood work in to avain biotech and did the 4 major test and gender package. Found out a few weeks ago, she is a female gcc conure and her tests came back clean. We also went in for a vet checkup. Other than being slightly underweight, they gave her a thumbs up. We have no idea how long she has been out in the wild. She is now eating really well, and absolutely adores fruits and veggies along with her seed/pellet/BH blend. I just started integrating her with the other birds. (YES, I did a 30 day quar.) I let them out a couple of days ago together, and they all did very well. She seemed to keep her distance at first, but nosy Midori and Shiner (Moonshine) immediately accepted her into the flock. At first I thought she was another turquoise green cheek conure like Midori, but now, I am not so sure. she and Midori look similar, but her colors are much more muted. I will post a pic, and you guys let me know what you think she is.
