Unsafe Leather Cord, Jute?

I am kind of concerned that the leather cord and jute I bought to make toys with is not safe.

The leather doesn't have a strong smell, but the smell form the jute is noticable...
Good, bad?

I bought 100% natural hemp from the same brand/company...
