Han Solo - SI Male Eclectus
Hi guys, I have Posted this in the food section, but thought it was also important for Eclectus.. as it lists which foods have vitamin A in.
I just received this useful information card with some parrot topper/dry mixer I bought. You can buy it at MikeyandMias website. It’s all organic human grade.

As you know, diets for Eclectus is very specific and problems can developed when one 'enriches' their diet. As a result, additives /enrichers can be problematic and care should be taken when using such products. Commonly, one should only add supplements when their blood test identifies a need.

Thank you Sailboat, I didn’t know what to call this as it’s all just freezedried veg/fruit plants and seeds, no pharmaceutical supplements/additives.
They just call it “Dry Mix“ - then say add a little to on the Chop.

I’ve changed the title to “dry mix” as This is what they call it. I do not want to mislead anyone. Thank you for your support Sailboat. X x

It is a difficult product to define as the process of Freeze Drying commonly self-enriches it as the product drys. We use freeze-dry product during the winter months as a treat for our Amazon.

As an Amazon Nerd, I am not an expert on Eclectus, but understand from friends and members of Parrot Forum that their diet is so very important as their natural range is lacking in high value food sources and as a result, they can suffer from to much of a good thing.

Thank you for caring and looking for excellent diet products and passing along what you are finding.

Nico my Ekkie has been to the vet on a few occasions as he has some medical issues. Nico is on prescription pellets (bland pellets) to avoid any additives. It’s for easier digestion, and so he doesn’t over dose on vitamins.

I myself have brought up some products in conversation as well that I’ve found at a pet store. It may be my ignorance but they looked like a great products to me. I was informed that it was a bad idea, and the vet didn’t recommend it for other parrots as well (I asked if I could give the stuff to my conures).
