That feeling... You know that feeling that maybe you need more birds? Maybe just one more. What's one more right? I DONT NEED MORE BIRDS! But sometimes the temptation is there!! Oh look a hand raised King parrot, I've always wanted one of them... oh there is a corella... and an eckie, a zon Ohhhh and a blue and gold!! I'm still waiting for the day when I own my own place with money and room to spare to throw at some more birds =)

I get that feeling quite often...and then I clean a bird cage. It kind of goes away after the third bird cage and fourth kitty litter.

I want an eclectus male but until something dies I can't the man would kill me! Not that I am wanting things dead by any means but it will be some years before I get one.

Just do what my MIL does, adopt a feathery friend, then when your man questions it, say you found the poor guy on the side of the road [emoji14]
It doesn't work anymore lol after her tenth bird he got a but suspicious haha

After I got Sassy I didn't really think I would get any more. Then I saw Cisco, which is what I've always wanted. Then that was it!!! No more...lol. Then my friend asked me to take Peanut and I just had to. NOW...this is it...my flock is full!! (and I wouldn't change a thing!) Sure, there are many others that I would love to have. A friend of mine who works with the humane society recently asked me about taking a B&G and I was very proud of myself for saying no! I told her if she needed help placing it I would help find a good home for it (through you guys of course) but I couldn't take it.

Well... every once in a while I think about the other 3 bird types that I would also own in a dream situation: a macaw, a sun conure, and a toucan (Toco in a ginormous home, aracari in a merely enormous one.)

But such thoughts are only occasional flights of fancy for me. I have a good-sized home, now, but I'd want to be in my dream home (6-8 bedrooms with a full basement and large, wraparound sunroom) before seriously entertaining such thoughts.

And in the meantime, I've already got my top dream birds! So it's all good.

Yes, I get that feeling too :). For the time being, I am maxed out. We had to move in with my elderly dad this year, and until he goes to a retirement home there is no more room.

So my dream for the future, hm let's see... I'm blessed with 4 very independent birds now - 2 Poicephalus, 1 Pionus, and 1 Budgie (the Pionus and Budgie want me to keep my hands off of them, so 2 cuddly yet still independent ones)...

My dream bird is a Dusky Pionus, but in actuality I might think twice about it, weighing what I superficially like about it vs actually wanting another male Pionus. We'll see (I only want males). I think I probably prefer the Poicephalus personality more than anything, so maybe a Jardine's or Cape. Though Robin is 20 and considered old for his specie, I'm counting on him still lasting a while! So one more (if/when I have more room) will be plenty to keep track of!

Then Don wants a bird of his very own (although we joke that Raven is "daddy's bird" since he only likes Don to handle him). He's too busy, and I just "know" that if he got a bird it would be ME having to be the primary caretaker of the creature HE picks out :52: and 6 might be overwhelming for me alone, so that's a concern. Or 7 if I got Twigs a Budgie friend... Honestly, that would be a lot for me, even with independent species. The cleaning alone . I'd be happy with just one more ;). I'll tell Don he can't get his own bird until he retires, and that's not any time soon lol.

I do get that feeling occasionally, usually in the morning, like Dopey said, after the fifth cage has been cleaned and the floors have been vacuumed the second or third time, I'm pretty much over it.

I'm happy with my flock and they seem happy together.

I love my parrots so much and know I don't have time for more. I may look at some birds, and fantastize having one but I just don't have the time for more, no matter how much I wish I did.

But..... raptors?
I really want a
imprint barn owl
harris hawk
african crowned eagle(one day, maybe, when I'm rich lol)
and lanner or saker falcon

I ALWAYS have that feeling! LOL Even after huge cleaning day like yesterday... I just thought 'I could have more budgies, lovebirds or tiels' - there is so much extra room in the cages (they are almost never caged anyway).

I have a weakness for dogs and birds. I think if I ran in to a sweet little poi I would have a hard time resisting. I have 3 rescue dogs and 2 strays just showed up at more door (covered in mud, ice, and flea dirt) so I took them in as it was only 15 degrees out. I love my fids and fur babies :)

Yup, I have that feeling all the time. Sometimes I can't help but go with it.
