Hi,

I've had parakeets for many years and I thought I knew everything but now I need some outside thoughts on this. I bought two young parakeets a few months ago and they are both the sweetest people loving babies I've ever had. They are housed in a large parrot cage with two other parakeets... very spoiled birds. I have the two young males, a 3 year old male, and an 8 yr old female. The two young ones are roughly the same age. Both had baby stripes on their head when I bought them but over the past month now, Skyler has been grabbing Tibbin with his claws over his back and Tibbin squawks trying to get away. He gets him pinned down on the bottom of the cage and I have to go to the cage to get him off Tibbin. I feel bad for Tibbin. I've never seen this before. I don't think they are fighting over the female. Skyer doesn't do this to the other male, Fidgit. Both Tibbin and Skyler seem bonded too. They are always following each other. If Skyer flys off the cage, Tibbin follows.

Is this something to worry about or should I separate Tibbin into his own cage?

i would really seperate Tibbin, you could try to put Tibbin in his own cage put him next to the others for a week and after a week you could put him back in with the rest and see if the problem is fixed how ever you need to monitor that time because you dont want Tibbin to get hurt.
