It's been two weeks since Zack has bit me hard enough to draw blood! When I got him toward the end of December I couldn't get near his beak without getting bit. Now, he is out and we are playing together every night. Very cool!

Now the training can begin. :D

That is awesome progress with Zack! Great news for your fingers as well:)

Congrats!! Getting a bitey zon to stop using your body parts as targets, is a huge accomplishment! Good luck with the training :)

Good job with Zack! With parrots, patience always pays off. Now the fun can begin!:green:

Once you cross that initial threshhold with them, they're usually pretty good about it. It's just getting them past that first hump that is the HUGE challenge with zons... (That's the bird training issue.)

That and learning when to tone it down a bit because you are starting to get them worked into a state! (That one is a train the humans thing.)

Thanks all! It's been fun getting to this point. Now if I can just get him to stop beaking my fingers (or a stick or anything else I get near him) maybe then I can teach him to stop up! I've got a couple of books on training parrots but I'm still learning how the best way to train is.
