Here is their finished set up. Double flight "estate" with divider :), and Twigs and Mink getting acquainted...

Last night they had a little pecking match, which I'm expecting to be on and off for a while as they establish dominance. Today with the divider out, it looks like Twigs invited Mink over to his side lol.

It will be interesting to see their friendship develop... I have a very dominant mature male Twigs, then Mink, the much larger (baby) English budgie female. Female budgies are known to be dominant.

Even at Mink's tender age of 10 weeks, she has already shown dominance toward me. Being hand tame, looks like I'll have another parrot to train! Never mind her tiny size, she still needs to be well behaved :).

They look the same size in the pic, but Mink being of English type, is quite a bit larger.

Love the setup Julie! It looks like (from the picture) they are becoming fast friends:) Do you think with Mink being hand tame, Twigs will see her interacting with you and start to become hand tamed too?

Thanks everyone :)! I'm thinking they'll become good friends. I think budgies are so strongly flock oriented, that there's no way that they won't be friends after noticing they now have another of their own kind lol!

I'm not sure that Twigs will become any more hand tame after seeing Mink. He watched the parrots, and his old budgie friend Pix became tame, yet Twigs still didn't want any part of it.

That cage is AWESOME!!! Two very lucky birdies!!!

Absolute cuties!
I'm currently planning to ship the same flight cage over! Hopefully, Arrow and Esther will like it as much as Mink and Twigs haha ;)

100% would love to see how their friendship develops :D

Thanks Reid :). Have shipped from the mainland you mean? Where did you order it from? This one is from birdcages4less.com. One thing is for sure, Esther and Arrow will LOVE IT. What color did you get?

I'm sure their friendship will develop fast. It will be interesting to see how much they bicker. He and his male buddy would bicker a lot. I wonder if Twigs will now turn into a "yes dear" kind of guy with a large female budgie :18: :18:!

The only thing I'm kind of concerned about with this cage was that when you have the divider out, there is a 3/4 inch gap there. I know the (non-English) budgies like Twigs can squeeze their entire body out of a 1 inch space. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Twigs and Pix used to squeeze in and out of Raven's cage all the time. I hope 3/4 inch isn't a hazard. I'd like to leave the divider out a lot of the time if it's safe. What do you all think?
