Trying to rebond with my Cockatiel

So since our bond was compleatly broken with our move 8 months ago I am trying to rebond with my bird. So far is isn't going as easy as it was the first time. However right now Halloween is about a foot away from me on my bed eating an avi cake for the first time she normally doesnt get them as I will put some on top of her food dish or in a foraging toy and it drops to below the grate in her cage and she is done with them at about that time. Hopefully tomorrow will be easier to get her out of the cage I plan on trying to teach her (again) that coming out of the cage is good and there are treats that mommy doesn't normally give her while shes in the cage. She still won't play outside of the cage but as long as shes eating a treat i think thats a start.

I JUSWhen I was growing up, we had a few cockatiels. When we first got them and they were getting used to us, we'd put them on our shoulders and pin a spray of millet to ourselves (they looooved millet and would eat it all day if we let them), and walk around like that. It seemed to help quite a bit with the bonding.

well that would work if she liked her millet more than she does. She does like to climb up my arm to my shoulder but it's soooo difficult to get her to do that as most the time she prefers to fly away.

You think maybe have Halloweens wings clipped? Hmm or lay on your back and put your tiel on your belly and cover him partially with a warm blanket right out of the dryer, If he chooses to get out from underneath the blanket he might run up to your sholder or chin. Or if he chooses to stay he will feel secure warm and comfy on your belly. Worth a try aye m8

Is there anything else you could pin to yourself? I think giving her treats outside the cage is a good idea though.

I am going to clip her wings as I hope that will help us bond like we did when I first got her.

Clipping her wings will help with the training process! I'm gonna have to work with Mallory again, she doesn't like to come to me as much as she used to. I had to pull myself away from her when she almost died from egg binding....I had to keep my distance to save her life.....She will still step up for me though, and loves to take treats from my hand.
