Tree Stand

After veiwing a few youtube videos of how to make one I feel confident in being able to make one. One question my wife has a teil and I am going to have a Meyers. Is there any type of wood I should stay away from. I have a few family friends/coworkers that might be able to supply the tree cuttings. We Live near the redwoods so pickings might be a bit slim. Thank you for your recommendations.

I might be able to get my hands on Plump/Cherry Tree cuttings from a good family friend that never used pesticides, are those branches okay?

thank you found one of them threw a google search, trying to findsomeone local that can have it. Fresher better right so you can potetially get the bark off.

Hmm any ideas of where to go to try to get cuttings, on the Facebook page for local sellers nothing showing up. I dont have gathering rights to the area. so I can just go off and hack what I need. I live in the redwood coast. Thank you
