Traveling back and forth between US and Canada?

Has anyone traveled back and forth across the Canada/US border repeatedly with parrots? I have two greencheeks, and I live in the US but am looking at purchasing a cottage in Canada. I'd like to be able to come back and forth for stints of 2 weeks to a month. I'm reading that the best way to do this is to apply for a pet passport. Has anyone tried this?

Were you able to get an answer to your question? We are RVing to Canada from the US in the summer, and the requirements I find online are very confusing.
