Toys with oyster shell...are they safe?

Hi, are toys made of pieces of wood and OYSTER shells safe for macaws?

As long as they are clean, I think they should be safe!

Yes, I agree with Allee. One word of caution, however. Seeing you just got a female GW, make sure she doesn't 'overindulge' in the oyster shell chunks.

So, if she manages to break off “chunks” of these oyster shells — could they possibly damage her digestive track? I fear that the chunks she breaks of could have sharp edges...

Wendy brought up a good point! I wasn't thinking about your bird eating the oyster shells, in that case, I would think it could be dangerous.
