Kato's favorite plaything is me. He's most happy sitting on my shoulder. When in his cage, he looks out the window, but rarely plays with the toys I've gotten him. I've tried every toy known to man and he just has no
interest. I'd like him to be happy when he has to be in his house.

Sometimes it helps to play with the toys yourself while the parrot watches you. Show him how to play with them and how much fun they are-- be enthusiastic. Then see if Kato wants to join in the fun and both of you might play together. Eventually, Kato may start playing on his own. Some parrots never do show any interest in toys and Kato may be one of them. My QP Ralph prefers things that aren't parrot toys-- stainless steel spoons are one of his favorite things to play with. :)

My quaker doesn't like to play with toys by herself. She'll open her foraging toy to get to the treats (she actually opens them all up and then saves the treats for later). She'll slam the hell out of a bell to get our attention. She'll play with other toys if we play with her.

One thing she loves to chew up is the end of shoe laces. We leave a few dangling for her to deal with.
