Excuse me Stephen, what have you got against my girly pink med kit?!?! HUH?! :09: hahaha
Are you jealous? Is that what it is... ;)

Hahahaha! Nice comeback! Not so much jealous, though. While the whole pink scheme would work rather nicely for you, I'm fairly certain it would look considerably less charming on my 6'3" frame. Lol! (Great, now you have me picturing it!)

Admit it, Stephen, you want hot pink accessories too. That's okay, you know we wouldn't judge you. :)

Tab, riding motorcycles is on top of my happy things to do list, but even that pales in comparison to a shopping spree at My Safe Bird Store. Fargo is going to love his fabulous toys. Auntie Terry sent Popeye the wooden swing with the foraging wheel and he loves what's left of it, a favorite toy since the second he saw it. Fargo is lucky to get the whole order to himself, Popeye had to grudgingly share the new toys with his flock mates. I know your baby boy will miss his Mom every minute you are away, but he will certainly have fun being distracted by his new treasures. Thanks for this wonderful thread and the pics. You and Fargo always make me smile.

What awesome toys!!!! Fargo looks like he's very excited about his haul of new toys- that pineapple one is pretty cool!!

And I love your pink med pack!! [emoji13] Terry was saying the other week how I needed a hot pink tool belt for when I'm working on jobs with hubby LOL

Thank you!!! I can't wait until it arrives.. Got an email saying it was sent today :D

I suck at hiding presents though? I remember as a kid, i could never wait until mothers or fathers day to give the presents.. As soon as i got home from school i would be like- OPEN IT.. OPEN IT NOW!!

Hahaha i think you definitely need a hot pink tool belt..

My mum purchased a hot pink horse farrier set to do all our horses hooves with filling and trimming :09:

Is there ANYTHING better in this world, than bird toy shopping?????

Yes, actually there is. SKYDIVING!

But I get your point... Though I do more bird toy crafting than buying. (You should see their little birdie expressions when the bird toy craft box comes out... Whoo! What's he doing?! Is that for me?!)

It's funny, I never go shopping for myself. Haven't in years. Just my daughter and my birds... parenthood changes you that way.

Hahahaha i have never ever been skydiving!!

About 3 years ago i actually had free tickets to go! But that kind of thing never interested me.. I don't really like the whole adrenaline scary jumping off things ;)

Oh you are lucky if you have the bird crafting skill.. I can not make a toy to save myself!

and yes, i used to spend my money on things for myself, but ever since i got Fargo it just always gets spent on him.. Only a bird owner can understand buying a toy for it to be destroyed in a few minutes ;)

AWESOME splurge...I mean purchase. :D Fargo is such a lucky boy. And I LOVE your accessories, too.

Now what will it take for us to convince you to PLEASE stop blocking out that pretty face of yours? :54::(

Hehe :D I was actually thinking as i bought- I wonder how much the postage will be, i wonder if Wendy would mind if it gets sent to her address

But it only ended up being 100 dollars, so i figured that is pretty good anyway! :)

Do you want to know what mum's splurge was today....

A friesian...

We just got home from looking at him.. Going to pick him up in the morning!

The poor thing is in bad condition... His mane is full of burs and he is just covered in mud  and he has never had his feet done, so they are all splayed out and cracked :(

I am looking forward to giving him a big bath and making him nice and black and shiny like my guys..

But he is only 15hh, so pretty small :09:

Amen! You can even pose with your new girly-pink stethoscope if that would help! :p (Okay, okay! Sorry! Not in the face!)

You know what Stephen... You will never get to see a picture with me and my pink stethoscope because of that... ;) hahahaha

No, when my pack arrives i will take some selfies :D

And then next year when i get my uniform, ooohhhhh, i will be forever taking pictures :p

Thank you!!! :)

Oh definitely, i have heard wayyy too many horror stories about bells :31: Even if i get a toy with bells, i immediately take them off !

He had a toy with bells when i first got him, and he took the ringer thing out? Found one, couldn't find the other and i freaked out thinking he swallowed it.. Hence, no more bells ever ;)

HAHAHAHA ^_^ You guys :09:

Ohhh really! I am glad Popeye approves of it :D

At least that is one good thing of being an only child, Fargo gets to have all his toys to himself

Mum seems comfortable looking after Fargo, we chatted today and she seems fine, and she will feed him and make his different mashes and mixes at whatever time he needs!

So if he has yummy food and new toys, i think we might deal with this whole situation :D

Because of the price of toys I make my own from tree branches. Not as pretty but functional. As long as the wood is soft. After all if they can't win what good is the toy other than decoration?

You are lucky Randy!!

Fargo likes bright colours! I have bought untreated pine wood before, but he doesn't care for it because it isn't pretty and colourful :20:

He has favourite colours too.. Purple/blue/greens are his favourite..

Yellows/reds and oranges he will either not touch, or leave it until the end... Veryyy strange

Hahahaha :) He is rising 4...

I personallyyyy don't approve, because i know it is just another chore i will have...

He is also not well handled... We couldn't even get him to lunge, and it took us a few times to try and get him to trot beside mum

The lady who owned him literally bought him, and just chucked him in the back paddock.. Never rugged.. Never brushed...

NEVER had his feet done.. They are terrible..

I called Craig today and i am sending him pics tonight so he can see what needs to be done! :)

But he seems friendly enough, he has a caring gentle nature, it is just going to take a bit of training and time.. Which i do not have.. So i hope mum realises this is one horse that i can't spend time on.. I already have my 3 to work with!!

He feels like one of those horses that you can't leave in the paddock for a week and get on and ride? He seems that he will really test his rider...

I will get some pictures tomorrow when he is bathed and brushed.. But here are some from today:

He was bought as a foal for 25 000 dollars

Pictures don't really show how much dirt and mud was all over him.. and he was just full of burs..

The stud which bred him are in absolute shock over him... They can't believe the condition he is in..

He is JUST 15hh if he is lucky... And they said he should have been easily 16hh by now...

But because he has never been fed proper food, it has stunted his growth..

and apparently (i know nothing about friesians) but his back end hasn't grown properly, it is underdeveloped?

So this lady was just so upset that her beautiful friesian has suffered and hasn't matured properly!

You will love this Wendy.. This person who owns him.. Has 34 horses!!!!!!!! Wow... It is insane...

To me... It seems like his whole body is underdeveloped.. It is too small for his neck and head.. Hopefully with proper food he will grow out nicer..

Mum wants me to break him in.. HA... I don't even have time to keep my 3 guys ridden every day! :p

Kyros stuck his foot in the fence and sliced it.. So he will have to have about a month off now.... -_- Grr..

Hence Klaatu is in full work..

ANNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD..

The lovely Kitai!!!!

He has got the all clear *again* to start work..

Tomorrow will be his second ride in a whole year! :p

You know how Kitai gets a horrible winter coat?

Guess what i did this afternoon?

I CLIPPED IT ALL OFF hahahahaha

He sweats too much with his winter coat.. So i spent 2 hours this afternoon clipping it all..

and i am STILL not done..

I have to finish his neck, belly and legs off tomorrow ;)

Don't look at his condition.. He is doing fairly well for a thoroughbred who has had absolutely no work for a year.. But i still hate seeing him skinny compared to Kyros and Klaatu :(

Before:

After! :p

He went an interesting colour, which i knew would happen.. But during winter he goes this bad browny red anyway, so i didn't mind! :p

I did a pretty good job for my first time ever clipping a horse  It isn't even very patchy!

Iam proud of myself!

I assume its going to take about 3 hours tomorrow to finish him all off.. But then he can get a nice big bath, and start some training!

 Oh Tab, that Friesan IS in atrocious shape. Holy crap, look at his feet! Craig will have his work cut out for him. What did mum name him?

And yes, for a nearly 4 year old, his proportions truly are out of whack. It will take quite a bit of time, TLC, proper nutrition and proper training to get him to look his finest. And NO, you certainly do NOT have the time with your studies AND your 3 horses.

Oh man, poor Kyros! Was he looking for some time off? :54: I'm so sorry to hear he sliced his foot open. :(

YAY for Kitai having the all clear! I hope there will be no more incidents with him from now on, and that he STAYS clear. ;)

Do you have any comps coming up in the near future?

Here is a close up of his hooves: It is much easier to see in real life how much they have flattened and flared out..

Nothing as bad as what Kitai had hahaha But still going to take a while to trim them back to shape

Not sure on the name yet!

I know he is going to end up on my chores list to rug and feed and train each day... But mums mind is made up.. So nothing i can do about that haha

Yeah Kyros probably wanted a holiday.. :( Wish he could have chosen a nicer way..

It breaks my heart because usually he comes running to me and neighs...

Now, because his cut has to be cleaned 3 times a day, and it really hurts him.. As soon as he sees me go near the halter, he just runs away from me... Ouch... Not nice to see :(

Hahaha fingers crossed about Kitai.. At least Klaatu never gets injured.. He is a good boy!

and nope.. Mum won't take me to any competitions because of the big fight about that guyyyy ;)

So no competitions for a while... Lucky though.. Considering Kyros can't compete anyway.. and Kitai won't be able to compete until next year anyway! :)

Now i am off for a jog... Nothing nicer than a 9:40pm jog during winter huh? haha :)

What wonderful presents you ordered for Fargo (How on earth did I miss this thread??)
He is going to be thrilled!! And your pink medi kit is to die for.
That poor horse:( I am so glad y'all have him now so he will get the best care possible.
