To those Doctor's who said

"You will never have use of your right hand again"

It has taken 9 years, 4 months and 18 days to prove you wrong

It took me 6 hours over the weekend to crochet this Irish scarf

I had an ice skating accident in September 2002.
A young guy skated over my right forearm, severely injuring my alnur nerve.
Had to become left handed, and drive a car with only one hand.
Had physio for a full year, 5 operations and the doc's gave up.
It has been a rough time for especially my two sons, Sean & Steven, who became so involved and ran my entire business for 6 weeks, packing orders and writing invoices etc. I had help with the deliveries from friends.
I still have severe nerve symptoms, no one can touch my hand ever (only Mishka) if I bump it I scream, it feels like I have electric shocks going through my arm. When winter, the cold affects is terrible, bad cramps.

Oh yeah AND I CAN NOW WRITE PROPERLY WITH THE RIGHT HAND AGAIN

I MIGHT EVEN ATTEMPT CALLIGRAPHY AGAIN SOON

Wonderful news on your progress! Beautiful scarf! A friend of mine that loves everythin Irish would love it too. :)

wow amazing that you have made that kind of progress considering what they told you. Nerve pain is horrible. does anything help? you must be one very tough, determined lady. I love reading your posts on Mishka and all you have managed to teach him. even my little quaker sweetie pie enjoys Mishkas videos However I don't think he is learning anything . Beautiful work! Is it a gift for someone or for yourself?

Thank you ....

Nope just a spur of the moment thing, when walking past a fabric shop.
Weirdest thing I had never crocheted anything in my life before.
 except for the two scarfs I crochet for Steven & Sean.
My intention was to crochet a block...... not know what I was doing actually paid off.

I will take a picture tomorrow and share my weirdest, unknown invention. :p

Watch this space LoL

You go! That is an amazing story. I hope the pain goes all away. Never underestimate the human spirit.

Unfortunately the nerve was so severely damaged, the pain is something I have to learn to live with. The Dr''s tried everything. Had 5 op's.
Went to the best hand Dr in S.A. nothing more can be done.

My latest work of art, which I must admit I am so proud of
Not bad work, from a hand that was told would be disabled for the rest of my life
