I usually wear my glasses at school, but today i was reading and had to wear them, TK almost lost it and he plucked them right off my face twice! He also does it to my sunglasses! what is the deal..
he doesnt usually see me with them on, but sometimes i need to wear them
its like he thought MOM something is on your face let me get that for you!:blue1:

Our Hahns always try to take my glasses off my face, but it is because he thinks they are a chew toy.

LOL!

parrots are like that sometimes. they freak out about random things.

(LOL) ya, that's a parrot for you. Little things like that can sometimes freak them out.

Merlin tries using my glasses to climb up onto my head. grrr!

Just be careful that he doesn't get near your eyes, don't want you losing an eye.

I think if you try wearing them more often around him (possibly when caged?) then he'll get used to you wearing them and won't 'freak out' as much when you do wear them. A lot of birds have certain things they just don't like. Some jackets, a bobble, etc :p

Both my birds hate for me or my daughter to wear glasses. I'm pretty sure the folks that had them both before us didn't wear glasses very often. So I only wear my glasses when I'm ready, but my daughter needs her's all the time. So when she handles mac, she always has to try and keep him away from her glasses.

By the way, it's the sme issue with ear rings. So I would be careful wearing ear rings around him.

Merlin used to forever pull my earrings out, I'd never dare to wear hoops around him!

Necklaces, watches, etc. Anything shiney/intersting :p

Basically they think they're preening you by taking something unnatural off of you. Also, predators have large, unblinking eyes. Many birds do not like glasses because when wearing them, YOU have large, unblinking eyes. I wear glasses almost always, and my fids are used to them. Though, sometimes they do try to remove them, and climb onto them.

LoL Birds will be birds.
When I began wearing glasses, Mishka totally freaked out. I had to take them off immediately. The following few days, I stood besides his cage talking to him, whilst wearing my glasses. He has never tried to snatch them again.
Guess he just got bored or used to them.

i've come across 'racist' birds too, LOL! man, they're such amazing and annoyingly cute
creatures. <33

My Hahn's climbs up on mine as well. I was driving one time, he did a pull-up on my sunglasses, went to the front of my face then hung upside down and looked right into my face as if to say "Hi!"...while I was doing 70mph...I pulled over, and put him back in his travel cage immediately.

Oh dear.... I guess this isn't really funny but... its funny.

Birds decide to take issue with some of the strangest things; it isn't just your glasses lol. My bird was initially horrified of the big tree branch I got for her and made into a bird tree. What kind of a bird is scared of trees, I ask you? She's since gotten over it with a fair bit of coaxing from me.

P.S. be careful if you have freckles or moles. TK may try to do you the 'favour' of removing them, and parrots make lousy dermatologist.

hahaha so funny, no no freckles or moles, or earings, but he DID try to take the ring off my finger!! TK is NOT a fan of trees either, i have a smaller one in my backyard i tried to put him on and he was like HELLL NOOO lol he is in no way an amazon bird hes like a little friend

Omg your birds are scared of trees too, I thought it was just mine! Sully hates branches I make for him, loves them when attached to the cage but if I'm holding it, and he sees it, he will scream and fly around the room.
Birds have issues with some things I guess.

Mishka is one of them haha
Two weeks ago we had a black guy repairing a broken window
Mishka stood "upside down" the entire time shouting at him.
He has never shouted at anyone before.
