Titan had his first vet visit with me back in November. Was a giant jerk to them of course because he is always a giant jerk for other people. Almost blew out his vein in the neck but they stopped and moved to the leg where he did blow it out. I'll probably tell them to let me restrain him next time since I can saw off a leg and he would probably just let me haha. Bloodwork came back just fine! She also checked out his bum wing (he has one that he can't extend fully upright from when he came into the shelter). She couldn't feel any bone callouses so she doesn't think it was broken at any point in his life. Leaning towards either a genetic defect or atrophy that affected the development of the ligaments from when he was young. She said she wouldn't bother with an xray unless I was really curious about it.

The wing extended in the picture is his bum one that prevents him from flying. He can glide in a wobble even change directions a bit these days since I've made him use it since he came home 2 years ago. He used to drop like a stone and crash. So its not as weak as it used to be but doubt it will ever get much stronger! He is even confident enough now to make a run when he is in trouble with little flapping hop glides lol

Kellys bloodwork also came back fine from November. Just a little overweight which I expected since I don't make him climb the stairs as much anymore. He's been made to flap around more now since he is a little too old for stair climbing as easily these days. Also, Loki the sun conure freak that looks like a Jenday...

Sorry that your last Vet visit didn't go well.

If you're looking at a visit in the next few weeks, be prepared for a very different occurrence. Humans are not allowed in the Clinics, so you will not be helping!

That is one great family perch you have for them!

Ehhh. It went perfectly fine. Birds struggle and crap happens. He was fine just a bit ruffled and a few bruises. He does worse playing and throwing toys around. Wont have another vet visit for a few years. I don't do vet visits every few months or anything. And he doesn't need anything done since his bloodwork was fine. I knew there wasn't anything to be done for the wing I was just curious if they could pinpoint what was wrong with it since he is a rescue & his paperwork didn't mention it.

Next vet bill is for the horse spring shots next month and I'm never there for those visits anyway. I just leave a check and paperwork along with a benadryl dose for the barn owner to give him in the morning.
