How often do your Ekkies do the wing shaky thing? Scarlet will lean down and start shaking her wings like she wants to go somewhere or is about to fly. Its wierd because its not like it happens once or twice. She does it for a long time and keeps doing it. She will be on my shoulder and do it and I take her to the area that she is leaning to and then she does it the other way haha. She does it on her fruit dish, she does it on her perches, on top of her cage, on my shoulder. It lasts for about an hour or two with little 15 minute breaks of "normal" in between 5 minutes of "wanting to go somewhere". Ive googled the crap out of it and it seems like its pretty normal as far as excitment or wanting to go somewhere. Ive just never seen it with any of my previous birds.

they do do what you are describing when they want to fly somewhere, its almost like they want to jump but keep hesitating lol.
but you might want to google wing flapping... and compare descriptions/videos of that to what shes doing. i couldnt say from the description, but an hour seems a little over the top for that behaviour (compared to pickle) - (she could just be quite an excited babe though). :)

yeah i found some videos and stuff and its just her wanting to go somewhere lol. Now that she is settling in a bit more, she does is less. Just when she actually wants to come out (especially when her food is being prepared haha).

As an update, she is doing better and better! She is still moody but I honestly think thats just how she is ;). She is a sweet bird and even when she does nip me, its not very hard. She even lets me give her kisses and actually gives them back. I can even pet her chest inside her cage (BIG no no before). So she is doing great! She LOVES eggs. She can eat a whole egg (scrambled) in one sitting lol.
