I recently got a green cheek conure and "she" was born in mid June, I was told that she was not really hand tamed, I've been working on holding her for 10-15 minute intervals. She's learned step up fairly quickly as well as step down. She lets me pet her, however, without warning she will start biting. She could be snuggling against my hand, or I could be stroking her back and without any sort of warning (or anything startling her) she starts biting me. I read somewhere that I shouldn't pull away, that I should gently push my finger towards her, well, that makes her bite more. She hasn't broken the skin, and I try not to cry out in pain or give any sort of reaction but it really HURTS. Please, and and all advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm starting to become scared of her biting me and I don't want that to happen.
