I will be bringing my 4 year old CAG home on Saturday evening to my new home (and hers!)...around dinner time. The only room that will be completely done and set up will be my spare bedroom and this is where I thought I would keep her with the door shut for the first few days. I have cats who have never seen a bird indoors so want to make sure everyone is safe until they get used to each other! I am moving this Thursday so things will be pretty chaotic for the first week or so.
I plan to spend as much time in the room with her as I can while unpacking. She is incredibly tame and well handled so I think she will come around to me quickly but I don't want to rush her. Let her do things on her own terms. I'm also picking up a new cage for her that I hope to have in place for her to explore on Sunday.
Anything else I should do to make her transition easier? TIA!
