Hermine started in the gulf, rolled into Florida and went up the east coast.

I hope and pray you stay safe and dry with Lester!

Yes sending out those same sentiments to those in the path of Hermine or Lester.

Heard on news yesterday that Hermine was downgraded to Tropical Storm but bad enough IMO. Stay safe folks.

Agree! In 2003 we were hit by Tropical Storm Allison on a Friday that just sat on top of us. A friend of mine met me and had dinner at a restaurant that night, after finishing we sat in the restaurant waiting for the rain to stop. No it didn't. She ended up staying at my home that night and I swear she was the first person to reach through the phone lines and choke her son, lol! He wasn't home but roaming that night. None of us expected so much rain and flooding. The next morning I walked to the hospital I worked at. I lived only a mile away, no calls to come in but things were so bad I was concerned and went in to check on things. I'm not a nurse, I work computers and servers. I got there and half of the hospital was down on systems. Got them working then went to the Emergency Room to help them out with patients. It turned into a very, very long day but we took care of people. Extreme storms are not fun!

Funny tale, I was working in London in 2005 off of Oxford street and there was a flash of lightening. All the Americans didn't move, lol. The local Director stuck his head out of the office and asked me "what did you do? What was that flash?". I told him it was lightening. He told me there is never lightening here. Me? Yes it was. Then suddenly the thunder clapped. Now he believed it was lightening, lol. That happened at the end of the work day. All the Americans left on time, the Londonites wouldn't leave for fear of lightening. I learned that day that lightening is not common in the UK. It's a regular thing here, but a great lesson abroad!

Agree we do not get it with much frequency and when it does strike here there are sometimes injury, loss of life and/or damage caused. We both love to stand and watch it light up the sky after making sure Plum is OK of course :)

Londonites LOL you mean Londoners I think :D

LOL I do, Londoners, lol and thank you for that! I so enjoyed being there. An amazing country. I do miss it. I've told Husband to get his passport in order so HE can visit his corporate office and I can ride along, lol! I have some dear friends in Sheffield I really need to visit.
