Anyone have any success with their Parrotlet and another bird? And I am not thinking about another Parrotlet. A Cockatiel perhaps?

I would never put two hook bills in the same cage, especially if they are different species. I even do research before I add finches to our aviary.your not thinking of putting them together in the same cage are u?
Yeah. That is why I sent out the question. I have never have more than one hookbill before except for a pair of Budgies and I had to separate them in the end anyway.Parrotlets are funny - very bossy and most think they are the size of a macaw. I'd carefuly reconsider this.
My parrotlet passed away in Nov. He was 13.5 years old. He enjoyed hanging out with lovebirds. Of course they were in separate cages but during time out they were often together. I also have parakeets and the last year of his life he would hang out with the male keet when they were out of their cages. But his best buddy was a lovebird. I have photos and videos of them together. In one of the videos they took turns chasing after a small ball rolling around on the floor. They would also eat together from a small plate I put on the table. In fact the lovebird was the only bird Leo the parrotlet would share that dish with. The others he drove away until he was finished.Anyone have any success with their Parrotlet and another bird? And I am not thinking about another Parrotlet. A Cockatiel perhaps?

No, I had a couple of keets and an old lovebird when I got Leo. He tried many times to be friendly with the lovebird but she wasn't interested. About a year after she died I bought a young lovebird. After quarantine when Leo first saw him he went up to him and said the old lovebird's name! They got to be good buddies. The young lovebird liked Leo but Leo was always top bird. In other words, Leo was boss and leader of the flock.Sorry to hear about Leo.
Question for you. Was Leo first? If so, how long was he alone?
