Kelly CONGRATULATIONS on your GIRL :D! She's so beautiful. I love how bright the green is. That is hilarious how Gracie took the announcement!

Poor Gracie very underwhelmed wasn't she? The baby is gorgeous, lovely, pretty face and those eyes, just melt you. Thanks for sharing again and possibly interesting times ahead?

I love Gracie's photo essay, she's a real beauty! Those baby pics are absolutely darling, I hope in time Gracie will also be charmed by her new baby sister. How could she resist that last precious pic? Congrats, Kelly!

Thanks Julie! I know the green on her really blows me away. I had a feeling she was a girl after I had an opportunity to visit with 3 adult males that were being boarded there. LOL Gracie is my girl she just needed to express herself :)

lol just a bit! I'm sure she'll perk up when she has someone to talk "parrot" too. It'll be an interesting adventure that's for sure!

So glad you enjoyed Allee! I don't think it will take the baby anytime at all to push me outta the way & become Gracie's new BFF. Especially if the baby will dispose of those pesky green veggies for her big sister lol

I'm pretty sure the baby will be ok with a grey. I was feeding a grey baby some treats yesterday with our BHP baby on my shoulder eating treats. Didn't have any problems taking turns & sharing time, chatted away with the grey. When I put her down with the smaller conures she flew perch to perch to get right back to the greys, 'zon & macaw area. She likes the bigger parrots for sure.

Awww, Gracie! You know you are thrilled you are going to be a big sister, you are just teasing your Mom, I think:)
Those pics of Gracie are hysterical with the captions!

And sweet new Baby Girl just steals my heart with every single picture. She so looks like she is smiling in the sleepytime one!

No pics this week :( Went to visit baby girl.. she's doing really well. She's down to 1 feeding a day & is eating like a horse which is why no pics lol she was eating, eating, eating & I didn't want to disturb her too much.

Funniest thing tho she was hanging out with 3 Jenday babies which are still on 2 feedings so when they were fed & she was skipped she took one look at one of them & promptly encouraged them to give up a portion of their formula. She wasn't too greedy tho she let the baby (which is bigger than her lol) keep most of it. I had the worker check it's crop afterwards to make sure.

Still haven't settled on a name ugh... all the other babies have their names hanging @ their stands except my lil no-name. I'm hopeless poor birdy needs a better mama lol

My current favorites are
Emerlie
Rookie
Pippy
Zipadee
FiFi
Meadow
Haiku
LaLaLee

How much longer til she comes home? Gracie better watch out, sounds like she knows how to get what she wants..lol.

I still love the name Rookie, but you got me with FiFi. My CBC's name is Phoenix, but we call him Phoe Phoe..it has so many things that rhyme..my favourite is Phoe-del-dee-dee.

BHP's are closely related to senegals, correct? If that's the case, then I'm not surprised baby bird likes the bigger birds better. If BHP's have half the attitude that senegals have, then they have about the attitude of a macaw.

Congrats! And don't rush the name just because you think she should be named by now. It's worth waiting for the right name.

They probably would let her come home within the next week she eats everything in sight but I'm still not rushing it since I get to see her really often & I'd rather her not suffer any set backs or rushed weaning.

Yea Rookie really stuck with me but I can really see FiFi fitting her.

Yes they are both Poicephalus species . She does like them - I requested she hang out with the Grey babies so it would help her acclimate to Gracie when she comes home. She also had a Cape buddy.
I don't think they are well known for having the Senegal attitude she's a lot different then the Sentie babies that have been there - she doesn't hang out with them either. She's really laid back. I'm sure Gracie will help her attitude grow quickly :)

Yea I'm hopeless it always takes me a really long time with names. I've had her a month now lol One of my dogs took 2 1/2 months to name :)

Whichever name you pick will be perfect! That's a great idea to have her hang out with greys there.

I also think it's a great idea to have her hanging out with the Grey babies. I've heard of BH with "Sennie-Tude", but I think since she's a female, and especially will be a well socialized female, she'll be fine ;).

My favorites on your list are Emerlie and Meadow!

Thanks I was super concerned about even adding another parrot so I figured to increase my odds of success I better think outside the box and decrease as much stress as possible beforehand. Gracie has started whistling and telling the fake birdie in the other cage to cmere pretty girl. Lol can't wait to see what happens when the pretty girl comes alive. We stepped up this weekend to putting my phone in that cage playing a parrot whistling and she whistled back the whole time
I'm not afraid of 'tude we've got plenty of it around here with 2 teens and a grey lol we won't discuss my tudiness :)

I love those two lol see my dilemma she can't have 8 names. Hmm or can she lol

Well, she could have eight names, but you'd have to decide on an order, and that might be just as difficult as picking just one.

I'm not at all familiar with BHP's, except that they were closely related to the Senegals, so I wasn't sure about their attitudes. I adore my Senegal to pieces (he's called Emperor Leopold from time to time), but man he can out-attitude a macaw and a human teenager combined.
