The Paranormal

Ive seen two......
When I was 10, I would get up early to watch the lone ranger on TV, I had to wait till 6 am before I could turn the TV on, so I would sit in front if it with my brother waiting. That was when the tv were big and the glass would reflect everything in the room. I saw a little boy in the reflection standing by a a chair, when I looked in the room at the chair you could not see him. My brother saw him also. I made my little brother go stand by him, then wave, we could see him and my brother reflected in the tv. We both got scared and ran to our parents. Then he was gone. Some 30 years later my brother and I talked about it, we both still remembered it.... But that was all that happened.....

Wow, that would have scared me too!

I'm a firm believer that animals do have spirits too, and here are the stories of two such dogs.

I do in principle and believe they are artifacts of multiple dimensions. For reasons beyond our understanding, they may intersect and cause an "appearance." Another explanation is our brains are evolving and the ability to perceive the paranormal is unevenly distributed.

I went to a restaurant where the entrance was comprised of a hall with a lattice partrition on one side and solid wall on the other. This hall went to where you got food in a buffet. As I was moving in line I turned around to see a rather stern looking man staring at me. I turned away but a few minutes later turned toward him again but he was gone. There was absolutely nowhere he could have gone but around me, which he did not, or back out the front door. Within a minute of not seeing the man two ladies were comng in. When they got up behind me I asked them if they had seen a man going back out the front door but they said no. I've always thought he was a ghost.

For the vast majority of my life, we lived in a very large turn of the prior century home.

Having 'guests' is, IMHO, a standard part of large older homes as near all family events occurred in the home, from birth to death.

So, in addition to the common movement of large homes as the seasons change and the vast number of individuals over the years, yup, guests...

After a bit, its just living in a wonderfully large older home...

FYI: Mrs. Boats came up with the idea of installing an operational phone in the third floor ballroom. Once in place, protocol was to inform 'guests' that it is only proper to first call before visiting...

Good thread... it never hurts t take a sidestep or two from the beaten path.

I'm pretty open-minded. Any meandering into the great philosophers' ideas will make me want to stay flexible in terms of what is "real" or not. Also, today's superstition is tomorrow's science. Back in the old days, people avoided sick folks lest the sickness- demons jump from the afflicted into/onto the healthy... today we know about germs!! How can we possibly imagine that we understand the Universe well enough to know what we know or don't know, if you know what I mean. :)

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it!

I have had 3 run-ins with ghosts.
First was our family cat when I was still in grammar school. The cat accidently hung himself. Afterwards both my sister and I saw, felt him in the house.

second was when I was in college and living with my father. His housing track was built over an old school yard. There was a "spirit" of a little boy and I got a very bad feeling from this one.

The last one was in the house I am still living in. This one went from making bad smells (I mean that quit literally) to turning on lights at 3:00 am.

I agree, there's a lot we don't know and understand. However, I do believe that there is something beyond death. At times when a dog passed away I'll hear a tingling sound and smell a very sweet aroma. Perhaps their spirit.

My pets who pass away, always come back to visit in very realistic dreams, usually around three days. Tho I have had instances when awake, freeling them walk up and lay down next to me.

I have heard this also happens to people who have lost family members or friends. Perhaps we are allowed to say goodbye, and reassurance before we move on.

After I lost Pacho I was feeling very bad about it and blaming myself.
I saw Pacho in a dream that was unlike any dream. There was no sense of location it was just Pacho doing her "I am happy to see you" posture and fluttering her wings.
I felt better after that, it was like she was saying she did not blame me for her death.

Several years ago I read a woman's post telling how she felt comforted by the sound of her St. Bernard's nails as he approached her room at the usual 3:30 a.m. while she was in bed. Then she heard the familiar clump sound as he lay down by her bed. Only thing that stood out and made this extraordinary was that the dog had passed away four months earlier!

Several years ago I experienced an incident I can't forget. It only happened at night, while sitting in the dining room that sounded like a tapping of a stick on the ceiling at 5 to 10 second intervals over and over. The sound would be close, then move away and/or go around me. This went on 2 to 3 weeks about 3 to 4 times a week.

Finally one night in bed before going to sleep I heard the same noise coming to my door when I sat up in bed and said out loud "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus", and said it 3 times. The noise disappeared and I never heard it again. I didn't smell anything or feel any cold spots, but the fact I didn't hear it again after rebuking it told me it was a spirit.

I spoke with someone on a message board about the noise, and they suggested it could have been a demon but that it wouldn't bother me anymore because I knew how to get rid of it. To this day I haven't heard it again. I have had other things happen but not that noise.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnZyuLNZRJM"]#Abandoned This house left me affected for days - YouTube[/ame]

This is an interesting video a guy made of an old abandoned house. It's kind of long, a little over 11 minutes. I don't get the feeling it's haunted, but at almost the end when the guy goes to the back tell me if you see what I think I see under the porch to the right of the steps. When the tape gets about to 11:14 I think I see a little white dog, and it vanishes! It's not there just before the tape gets to 11:14. Did you see it?

It could have been the spirit of a lamb or dog. When the steps and porch are in view at the end, as the guy turns the camera back to the left is when what I think is the spirit of an animal vanishes, and when he turns back to the right it's gone.

Ive never actually seen one, but I had an apartment when I was younger that had a poltergeist, doors slamming, knives jumping off trays that I was carrying with both hands etc. So yes, I believe there is something in it. My Scotish grandmother was 'in tune' with it all and my mother told me many ghostly stories about my nan. Incidentally, my nan used to always say, 'don't fear the dead, its the living that can hurt you'

I'm a rational person, I totally haven't got a single oz of religion in me, and yet I cant bring myself to deny the existence of ghosts, which baffles me even more.

Ever noticed how when a group of people together and one starts talking ghosts, pretty much everybody has had some form of 'ghostly experience', or at least a spooky and unexplainable experience.....

I much prefer my spirits in a heavy glass :)

That's something about what happened in your apartment. It's possible you've seen a ghost and didn't know it. At times they can appear just as real looking as any person.

How about this story..... Its true, a good friend and daughter experienced it, the same thing happened to several, totally unrelated families in the town and it actually made the papers bofore they found a 'solution' for it.

I visited an old xGF several years ago, she told a recent story about her daughter and that recently she had started talking to herself in her bedroom, but her daughter said she was just talking to the sailor. Days went by and this continued to go on, so the mum went in to her daughters room and she saw the sailor too, sitting at the end of the daughters bed. All white uniform, flat topped hat but his face had no features what so ever. my friend was very spooked by this...

A week or so later she called me back and read the local newspaper out to me, many families where reporting exactly the same occurrences!

It eventually came out that the local and ancient mansion was being worked on, this house was old it had a moat! Well, many years ago, sailing ship days, it was owned by the Liverpool shipping companies and was used for sick sailors to recover from illness's, so a lot of them must have died and where buried there. The work going on there had clearly awoken these souls from their long sleep......
