I am starting to see that we have numerous members who ride and/or own horses! So post your horse related pics here. I'll start:

I have a Selle Francais. Aesop is 18 years old and used to be a big show jumper back in his day. We have dabbled in some jumping but I am not brave enough for the bigger stuff. We mostly do dressage. :)

Now it's YOUR TURN!!!!!

Oh! :) Me!

I have a 5 year old grade QH gelding named Drifter. We mostly do trails and just riding around. He's my first horse, I got him 3 years ago.

I also have a Quarab who is for sale, he's coming 2. I bought him hoping he'd get 15 hands and he has barely gotten over 13.0 hands. :( Which is a pity, because I <3 him. But i'm selling him and purchasing an appy (hopefully)

I love horses with little dish faces like that. How cute! I love arabs but I tend to dwarf them. I'm 5'9'' with long legs. I need to find a 16+hh arab. hehe. The guy I'm on up there is about 17.1 hands and you'd never know with me on him!

I can barely get on my Qh! He's 15 hands and maybe pushing 15.1 lol, but I have these short legs.

Yes, a number of people here are horse lovers. In my younger days, I rode a lot. No animal touches me like a bird, but, horses are such beautiful, regal creatures.

Love horses, wish I had the funds to own/ride. They really are fabulous creatures, I always wanted to do cross country type eventing, or just going for a good ol' hack.

I dont ride anymore, but I've had horses since I was a small child. We had everything, paints (when they were the cheap horses given to children), POA ponies, Appys & finally just Quarter Horses. My sister & I showed for many years & all of our horses were used on the trail.

I lost my last horse, a foundation bred Quarter Horse. She was only about 14.2, I'm only 5'1" so we fit. She was hit by a car one xmas eve. It almost destroyed me, she had never gotten out before, but it only takes once. After that I didnt have the heart for another horse. Life catches up, mortages, jobs, it takes alot of free time & money to keep a horse right.

I probably won't get into anything competitive, but not ruling out owning another horse someday. We showed contest, barrel racing, pole bending, etc. We actually did really well, in addition to our own horses, we showed youth for several stables. People like to get as many points as possible w/a registered horse, so youth riders were in demand. I've never did dressage, but always admired it. A collected horse is a beautiful thing to watch.

Great animals!

I miss my horses. I had to sell mine when my parent's divorced. I did everything from barrel racing to huntseat english. My last huntseat horse was AQHA registered, though he was an ex race horse half thoroughbred/ half QH (appendix QH) . He was a beautiful bay with a freezebrand of on his shoulder and stood tall at 16.2 hands! My mom would ride him western pleasure.

Triordan- Beautiful horse! I love the greys. Keeping them clean must be a task. My guy finds every mud puddle imaginable to roll in. I'm glad he's not grey or I'd be spending way too much time brushing & bathing.

Beautiful horses everyone! i enjoy all the pics! I grew up with a paint, we just did trails. Life happened and we had to give her up when i was 13. always dreamed of owning a palomino someday, but my husband is full blooded city boy so im not thinking its going to happen ever. My 4 yr old is terrified of horses and it breaks my heart..

Why dont you try to find someone to lease him to? That way he gets worked & loved but you still own him. :) I know a TON of people who lease.

I'm so sorry for your loss. How horribly sad. :( I can't imagine how devastating that would be. And for the driver too! If I so much as hit a chipmunk I'm in tears!

I've loved and admired horses all my life. Never had any myself. Now I do have quite a large collection of Breyer Horse Models though. :) Been collecting them since I was a kid. I try not to get any more now, I've run out of room! LOL

Oh yay! Fellow horse owners here. I have had my fair share of horses, but I am down to two. My Arabian-Paint mare and my Thoroughbred gelding. :)

My folks have a 5 year old Creamelo stud. Hes more like a super huge piuppy dog than a horse. Hes a big lover. He even curdles with the cats and wild rabbits. Lol. They are getting a Shetland pony for my daughter when she is old enough.

Hi all,
I train dressage horses. I currently have a Hanoverian filly that I bred(shes 3), a Dutch warmblood mare, a crossbred gelding, a percheron mare, and my childhood pony who is now 29+. I am an animal person through and through, but horses hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to a successful year showing and continuing my partnerships with these wonderful creatures.
