Just giving everyone an update on her

She had a check up and she was in the clear for everything, though she was a little underweight. The vet said it wasn't really a concern and all she needed was to be on a healthy diet.

She is now on pellets, seed mix and a fruit and vege diet.
She doesn't seem to be very interested in fruits and vege's. Yesterday I saw her eating carrots and testing her other veges, yay! A breakthrough!

I did try to get a picture of her but she gets extremely stressed out when someone goes near her cage esp with this giant camera pointing at her.

To those who don't know here is a link to my last forum

It pretty much says how I came to save this little girl.

She has only been here for over a week, I am still letting her settle in.
She has been very active and playing with her toys. She even calls to my other fids. I have been still putting her cage outside in hope that her mate will come back. I heard him yesterday morning calling to her so I still have hope.

This wee girl doesn't have a name either, any suggestions? And She is a maroon bellied conure.
I also want to try and gain her trust, the first step is to talk to her everyday?

good to hear she is in a safe and loving home. it would be great if you could reunite her with her mate. the only name i can think of for at this point is "lucky" cause she lucky she fell in your yard. i know its lame, but i have a habit of naming pets relevent to the situation or personality.

keep up the good work ash

I am so pleased to hear how she is doing as I did think of you/her since your last post. If her mate is still around then you still have hope - I wonder if you could try a bird trap (ie can come in but not get out)?
Good luck!

Okay well I found out today that the bird I thought was the mate wasn't instead it was an eastern rosella (just judging by the colours). My alexandrine has copied it's call so it's been visiting my place a lot lately. I am unsure if this bird is wild or not. You can find wild ones but that is in a different town. About a 4hour drive from where I live.

There are also no adds around for it. Still no luck trying to find the mate. I did put and add but the "old owner" insisted I had to take it down. I also got a warning and awful texts.

I will try to get a pic of her today if she lets me. : )
I still need to find a name for her, my brother has a cat called lucky so I might not pick that name. It would be a bit weird.
