1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
:green: here- These dirty rotten humans are up to something again and I know it! Last time they started putting stuff in boxes, I had a blast riding in a uhaul for 3 days (while they suffered muahahaha!) and suddenly we lived somewhere I had a BIG window and lots of squirrels to watch. I sure hope we do that again, but I think I heard them saying we won't be moving far this time:( (boooooo Kiwi like riding in the uhaul, maybe there will still be squirrels though?). I had to "sneak" up on my mommy just to reminder not to leave me behind! SURPRISE MOMMY!

(We are clearing out before we move and I was taking some photos for eBay of things we'd like to try to sell earlier. I was standing on one of those little kitchen step ladders and Kiwi was on the bed. I hear the distinct "clickity clack" of a parrot climbing down the metal bed frame and watched out of the corner of my eye as he stalked over and climbed up the ladder (yes, I totally knew where he was at all times and he was at no risk of being stomped at all, I even moved my foot up so he could scoot over between my feet)).

That is so cute

Kiwi goes on a adventure

He did! I was pretty surprised as he rarely goes on the ground of his own free will. He knows something is up.

Amazons are so amazingly resilient. They should write books to help other parrots that don't do moves so well. We moved five years ago and my uber-sensitive Grey is still not completely over it. ;-)

Great pic. I would love to hear about the fun you all had in the U-Haul, lol!! Buddy cuts up until he sees someone new and then he straightens up and says his best "Hellooooooo!!!!!"

Great shot and what an adventurer Kiwi is...looks like he is all set for more fun and a new window...Best of Luck with the move :)

DID SOMEBODY SAY SQUIRREL?!

TRUST ME! I'VE GOT THIS ONE... The key is to sneak up on them and then scream your friggin' head off when they're not expecting it... :D

Haha - too cute!

Adorable photo, April! It's amazing how tuned in they are.

Kiwi and Sweepea must be kindred spirits! Kiwi also likes to terrorize the squirrels (though through a glass window, there's not too much he can do besides hiss and flare his tail at them).

I've told this story before, but that picture I saw coming.

That was taken in Cali, and that particular area is hawk central. The squirrels are scared to death of birds...

The squirrel saw my bird treats on the ground, and stealthily, and carefully worked towards it... Sweepea was in the tree... and she stealthily and quietly made her way to the end of the branch until it sagged down to about the top of the squirrel's tail. THEN SHE LET OUT THE LOUDEST MACAW SCREAM YOU EVER HEARD...

The squirrel went straight up, did a back flip in the air, and ran off into the bushes. Sweepea went back up the branch LAUGHING!!!

Macaw practical jokes! MADE YOU JUMP is not a game reserved exclusively for humans...

Sweepea has a sense of humor then! I don't think we hear as many stories and know as much about her as your other birds.

Hee hee that squirrel got told who the treats belonged to :)

I don't recall ever meeting a macaw that didn't have a wicked sense of humor.

It was WAY LESS about protecting the treats, and WAY MORE about the entertainment value of watching the squirrel jump out of it's skin...

The treats were on the ground because the birds didn't want any more.

What a sweet photo of your pretty Kiwi boy, April!! :)

Have you guys found a new place? I hope it'll be smooth sailing from hereon out. :)

We are moving forward, but it is so stressful and putting me on my last nerve already. Kiwi sneaking up on me was so cute though, he may not be a cuddly little guy I can hug on when I'm stressed but at least he makes me laugh:D

So true about them making us laugh when we need it! Kiwi knows :) Hang in there!
